I'm so tired of buying duplicates! I was interested in the tools and supplies modules, so I emailed the owner. He says there is not enough interest in this program to continue its developement. He doesn't know if the program is too complicated or what. So if you are interested, download the trial program and let him know what you think.
Well I'm just starting out and I can't wait til we buy a house so I can have a stamping room (as if!) - I already can't keep it together, so sorry, I'm no help.
I use SplashShopper to keep an inventory of my stamps and supplies on my computer as well as on my PDA. As long as I have my PDA with me (and I almost always do), I have a list of ALL of my supplies. Markers, punches, stamps, brass stencils, stickles, tools, etc. I can narrow this down to the company and I can sort by item number, description, etc.
I LOVE this program. I consider my PDA to be half my brain!!

I stamp each and every stamp in a binder that I keep. If it's SU I also circle it in the catty. And when the new catty's come out I "forward" the info to the next book. I ALSO write them down in alpha order and keep the list in the back of the book. I have my book bound (I had it done at the UPS store) and everything is together. Let me tell you, having that book bound is a great thing... Since it's used so much it does not wear out too fast.

I wrote a web based database application that I have that I can upload images to with the text of who the image is by, the cost of the stamp, etc...
It's a MySQL based database, with a php front end... one day I might convert it and make a Visual basic front end to it and convert the database to Access and might offer it to everyone to use since at that point you can run it off of a computer instead of a website.... but right now its a toy that I just play with in my little spare time...
It allows you to add categories to stamps, so you can search by a category, or more than one category and list the stamps so you can know what you have to work with.
I work in the computer field - but my <3 is crafts... too bad I can't make the money in crafting that I can in computers ... I tried, trust me.
Other than that I keep track of my stamps by stamping the image on transparencies and putting them in an envelope. This allows me not only to piece out artwork using the stamps, and verify if the stamp is the right size etc, but allows me to categorize my stamps and "take them with me" to figure out what I want to do... You can look at that thread here Forums at Splitcoaststampers
I use a computer program from LNS - Organized Expressions. It is called Rubber Stampers
Personalized inventory
Catalog and catergorize
Diary and journal
Some pre loaded manufactures
Supplies, ink pads, stamp including photos, paper, markers just about everything in the world you would want to have.
It all prints out on spreetsheets. My insurance company accepts it for complete replacement costs.
This was the reason why I created my own because I couldn't find anything my insurance company would take.. .so I got a list of their specifications and build my own application... it can print and make lists of everything at any time for our insurance...
A few months ago I put my inventory on a spreadsheet - I didn't have to buy a program which leaves more money for stamps! I was pleasantly surprised by the total cost of my hobby - much less than DH's tools and stuff!
So do you just create a Stampin List? I use splash shopper, but never thought about using it this way, what a great idea!
I created a list called "Stamps, etc."
If you go to File > List Info in the desktop program, this is what I have:
Name: Stamps, etc.
Store menu: Company
Custom 1: Description
Custom 2: Group
My columns that run across the page are:
Item: I use this for the item number.
Company: The company the item is from.
Category: The type of supply the item is (colored pencils, coluzzle, dies, ink pads, markers, misc., paper, paper cutter, punches, stamps, stencils, stickles, and tools)
Description: The name of the stamp, or item, etc.
Group: I use this for helping me organize the items. For stamps, this would be the type of stamp it is: snowmen, flowers, plants, backgrounds, etc. Some of my items don't have a group assigned, like colored pencils. For paper, I did assign the TAC group like "Wing It Collection".
Qty: I use this field for my sets. Since a set is technically ONE item, I don't enter each stamp individually in the program. But if a set has eight stamps, I put the quantity as 8. (And in the notes section, I will make a note of what stamps are in the set.)
Unit: Each (I don't really use this column for anything)
Price: The price of the item (or set)
Here's a link for anyone else interested in SplashShopper: http://tinyurl.com/y9azq8 The program is $29.95 for both the desktop and the PDA software. I'd gladly pay double that amount (maybe even triple) now that I have used it for a few years. It has saved me LOTS of money by not buying duplicates. I use a Palm Zire PDA. I know it isn't the latest and greatest, but it works for me. ;) (I used to be a PDA-junkie, so this is quite a feat for me.. sticking with the same model now for about three years!)

Thanks for all the info! I'm going to stick with what I have for now. I just have to figure a way to list my inks, re-inkers, PE's and H2O's. Thats where I have the most problem. Keeping track of what colors I have. Although I've bought my share of duplicate stamps!

This program looks awesome! My Palm and I are the best of friends and go everywhere together... I may have to hook myself up with this!

I created my own database using Microsoft Works a few years ago. I can organize them by whatever catagory I want. I have a column for category, name of the stamp, item number, manufacturer, price, and date purchased. I can sort them by whatever category I want. I usually sort by Manufacturer, then item number as this is the easiest for me when I am shopping. I am so glad I started this list when I just had a couple hundred stamps - I don't think I'd want to try to list all the stamps I have now (over 2,000 non- Stampin' Up). I have a separate list for my Stampin' Up sets.
I found a program called Handy Shopper. It's freeware, and I have heard some good things about it. Haven't tried it yet, tho, because I have to get my PDA loaded onto this computer first!
