Default Spectrum Pads

Oh, I'm so bothered by my spectrum pads. I have only used them to stamp a few images and then pulled them back apart. The longest one was ever closed together was 30 minutes. I always pull them apart before storing and my Twist pad is now all messed up. I just got Pumpkin and I'm afraid to use it. The colors on the Twist have blead together and they don't come out crisp at all. I'm not calling DS about it, seems useless. I look at it and I just want to washing it out and reink the thing. Did I do something wrong or is this a common occurrance?

My celebration spectrum pad is starting to do the same thing.
Loved the pad when I got it, not liking it so much right now......

This is something that happens over time; I personally, like a little blurring. Rainbow pads that are inked up all on one pad are much worse since they turn to mud in no time at all and there is no way of reinking. Now that I have the spectrum pads I really prefer them.

You can wash the spectrum pads out and reink them; it's fairly easy to do. Another tip is to leave the pads separated when using a brayer; the gaps between the colors will blend together as you work the brayer over your glossy cardstock anyway.

I may try washing, it's only 2 months old and the yellow is green from running. I haven't even gotten to use it with a brayer. I do wonder if my DD left it together and didn't tell me, but it couldn't have been that long. And I agree blending is good, this is getting muddy though.

How would you wash it Jan? Lots of hot water or should I rinse and then diswasher it? Oh, that might be bad.

Default spectrum

I have the pumpkin patch, and it doesn' t seem to have bled at all...maybe it is just more obvious in pads that have lighter colors??? Kerilou

I also have the pumpkin one and have had it over a year and it was perfect until i used the brayer. i keep them apart for storage and stored them upside down of course. anyway a friend of mine completely smuged hers together as she stored them together. it is a mess but it still stamps cute. so i think somehow if they are blended together and you havent used a brayer you must have had them together at some point to long. good luck.
