Many of you kind ladies (and gents) have met Linda Littlepage - hotwheels - here at Splitcoast forums. Her birthday is coming on January 27th and some of us are hoping to bless her with a bunch of gifts.
For those who do not know her yet, Linda is 31 years old, has cerebral palsy and is confined to a wheelchair. As way of explanation, here are a couple of excerpts from earlier messages... I have to have my moms help 75% of the time or more... I cant walk at all... I dont get out to go places... I dont have many friends... I am praying that God would heal me. I am Christian, I believe in God very strongly...
Now, dont think that Linda is usually sad. She has good days and bad just like anyone. Linda also spends time on Splitcoast giving help, sending hugs, answering requests and praying for the rest of us. SO HERE IS MY REQUEST:
If you have any of the following items or would be willing to purchase one to send to Linda for her birthday, please send a PM to..... NEW INFO: Please contact Nancy [hotflash] who is taking responsibility for this list now (scroll down to post #22 to find her fast). Nancy will provide you with Linda's mailing address in Texas.
If you are unsure about names of the sets, please look them up in the gallery.
NOTE: Red type is for items still requested. Turquoise type is for items already promised.

I was just wondering, if she needed the quarter sheets for matting, shouldn't it be 4 x 5.25? This is a great idea, btw. Some of the punches are hard to use. Maybe she would like some punches in the same colors?

You are right... 4 x 5.25 would leave the little band of white showing around the edge of the card. And I'm sure that some punched CS would be very welcome. Thank you jen.
Thanks to those who have replied. Some gifts for Linda have been offered.... CS and ribbons and embellishments; and a couple of stamp sets different than the ones on our list.
What about prefolded card size cardstock to go along with the cut cardstock? Would she want or need any of that? Also what about some white cs. I use that alot or does she have that already?

I think that prefolded white cardstock would be just great. After all, that's something that disappears as fast as you get it.. KWIM
I was thinking - what part of Texas does Linda lives in (I know it's the biggest state in the union, so maybe this is a bad idea) but maybe it would be a good idea for her to have a SAB SU Birthday party!
Post which city Linda lives in and if some SCSers live nearby her, Linda could host her own party and 1) earn free hostess and SAB sets and 2) meet new stampin' buddies. It sounds like she needs friends just as much as stamps. Everyone that comes could bring along a birthday card for her too. Maybe those people that attend could keep her in mind when they attend stamp camps or other parties - invite her to come along in the future.
Another idea is that it sounds like she attends church so why not ask church friends to come to a SU party and stamp? Aren't all churches wheel-chair accessible? Maybe they'd allow her to host a party there (if that's allowed).
Just trying to think of more ways to help out Linda.

Great Ideas. I will send you a PM with Linda's address and email. Then you can contact her regarding parties etc. Since I'm 1000 miles away I really can't answer for Linda (and her mom).
Just a little bump. I've been sleeping half of the day. Stayed up a teensy bit late last night to watch them blow up the Space Needle.... fireworks, not dynamite!
GarnetJ emailed me that Linda lives in Burleson, TX which my trusty atlas says is near Dallas/Fort Worth/Arlington area of Texas. Maybe if any demos are having stamp parties or stamp clubs that are wheel-chair accessible, they could send Hotwheels a PM inviting her to their event so she could make some stampin' buddies. Since the original post sounded like Linda would be interested in meeting/making friends, that's why I posted this.
I don't live in Texas (I live in Nebraska) but thought the idea might help.
Will go thru my stuff - know I have ribbon, c/s & maybe some other things I can sent to Linda. I couldn't figure out how to PM you with my email...
Kitty
I have some retired re-inkers, cardstock and markers. Would that be of interest (I see someone is already sending the retired inkpads). Diane
Thank You so much! re-inkers and markers would be great. Cardstock is ALWAYS necessary - KWIM. Also, I think that there are a couple of the retired ink pads not yet on the list. I don't know the names of the colors, so I just began listing them as the offers came in. I'll send a PM with Linda's address.
I have been amazed by the number of PMs coming in. Lots of people offering sets that were not on the list originally. So our list is "looking" longer and longer, while actually the wish list that I first proposed has become a bit shorter.
Some gals have had a duplicate set.
Some are planning to purchase new
Some are finding the retired sets on ebay and bidding on them. What an amazing community this is!
Marvelous Magenta and Baroque Burgandy will finish it off

Title shows the colors of classic ink pads still needed.
