Hi - I'm from Canada and my husband and I will be in Phoenix next week May 12-20. Can anyone tell me the good scrapbooking/cardmaking stores I should check out? We'll be near the Glendale area and the Phoenix Stadium.
Thanks
Hi
You are just around the corner from me. You can go to recollections at Arrowhead Mall on Bell road at about 73rd ave i think, and to Joann's at 83rd ave and Bell, and Red Rubber stamps at 51st ave and Cactus. Recollections will keep you busy for awhile! It's been hot here so be prepared!
Definitely Recollections, that's one of my favorites. If you make it to Mesa at all, check out Scrapbooks, Etc. That's a great store, too. There's a ribbon store just down the street, too.
CHECK out THE CREATIVE QUEST--they are in DOWNTOWN Glendale among the Antique shops! They are a Paper Arts/Bookmaking/Stamping store! A MUST to VISIT! Their website is: www.thecreativequest.com Lots of artsy stamps & cool accessories. This is like my 2nd HOME!!!
Judy Ross is one of the owners--she was the one who got TIM HOLTZ started in STAMPING...and he is the one who became famous!!! LOL! Judy has been on SCRAPBOOKING on DYI (cable channel) a few times. She is incredibly talented & the nicest person you'll ever meet!
The Frenzy STAMPER in Scottsdale is another NICE STAMPING shop to visit--LOTS & LOTS of stamps! I think their website is www.thefrenzystamper.com. The Frenzy Stamper is about 45 minutes from Glendale--it is in downtown Scottsdale--if you have the chance to visit.
If you have very limited time and will only be in the West Side of town, then be sure to visit:
The Creative Quest (DOWNTOWN GLENDALE)
Recollections (75th Ave/Bell..in front of ARROWHEAD TOWNE CENTER MALL)--another FAVE hangout of mine!
OOPS! Frenzy Stamper website is: //www.frenzystamper.com
LOTS & lots of neat stamps & samples made from their classes. They even have $5.00 Lab time--where you can use any of their STAMPS in their LAB (HUNDREDS & HUNDREDS!!!!) for $5.00 an hour.
If you get to the Surprise area (farther north/west) there is a little place called Keepsake Trends. It is a little small but the ladies are always helpful in there! They are mainly a scrapbooking place. I am one my way today to go to Red Rubber Stamps (51st ave & Cactus). They always have a pretty good selection. We are looking at between 90 and 100 degrees here for the next few weeks. So bring shorts to catch some rays (in moderation of course)!

You have to go to Stampotique Originals, Inc. It is in Phoenix at 9822 N 7th Street, Suite 7. They have a ton of great stamps and card ideas. I was just there in March when I was on Spring Break and I picked up some really cute stamps. The couple that owns it was very friendly and fun to talk to. Call before you go because they do have some funny hours. 602-862-0237
Have fun!
Hi there, we're here in Phoenix and I have already checked out Recollections and 1 Joann's. Joann's was really picked over - lots of empty spaces where the sales items used to be. I love Recollections! Could stay there for hours. Because I am still recovering from being a pedestrian hit by a car, I can't walk very well yet or for long distances and I am finding this quite frustrating right now when I want to spend time in these shops and do sightseeing. We're heading out again in a few minutes to check out some more of the suggestions I rec'd - thanks again for the help.
I greatly appreciate the suggestions for places to visit when visiting Phoenix. I made it to Recollections and Creative Quest and absolutely loved them both!!!
We also got to JoAnn's and Hobby Lobby.
You ladies have a wonderful place to live. We'll definitely visit again.
Thanks again.
