Glitter Problems

I use SU's 2-way glue pen and Dazzling Diamonds and I love the look of it, but, the little pieces of the glitter keep falling off everywhere. Does anyone have ideas on how to keep this from happening?

Are you putting the glitter on right away? If you wait too long the glue dries and is non-permanent then.

I have done this before to keep the glitter from shedding....after it's applied and the glue has dried, zap it quickly with a blast from your heat tool. Not even to vaporize it, just heat it for a little bit. That supposedly helps "set" the glitter...maybe it melts it in place just enough that it stays put? Not sure of the exact reasons but I have noticed that it seems to help. Of course, once I get glitter out then it's everywhere for weeks! Jan

I use the heat and stick powder now too. I previously used the 2way glue and I would just sparkle, now it stays put right where I want it.

I like to use either mono multi or my zig two way glue pen in fine point, after I pour on the glitter, and let it sit to dry, I give it a very light brush with a soft paint brush just to get the loose glitter off. I barely touch the glitter with the brush, and don't push down at all.

My favorite for glitter is Designer Dries Clear which is from the Art Institue - which has glitters. It is a dry clear glue that holds like crazy. I use it for ALL my crafting needs but for glittering it is awesome. You can even use it to glue glitter onto acetate and it disappears completely leaving your project all glitter and no glue.

If you do heat the glitter do be careful. If you overheat glitter it will often loose it's shine/shimmer - sometimes causing a project to be ruined.

I *hate* having this happen! This is the main reason why I love using Stickles glitter glue. There have been lots of threads on Stickles here if you haven't heard of them before.

Has anyone tried that new Essential Glue Pad from the people who make Versamark? The ad says you can just stamp and then apply glitter, microbeads, PE, etc. without having to heat it...

I use the 2-way glue pen. After I apply the DD I use a Swiffer duster over the glitter and it gets all the loose glitter off. I use the Swiffer for embossing powder, too and it works great at getting the powder off of the parts of the paper that you dont want to emboss, I am a little messy with the ep's.
