And yes, I am making jewelry and I am so not good at it. It is something call carnival glass with the ultra thick embossing stuff, a piece of tumble glass and some kind weird film. then after it melts you stamp it. New use for my stamps! When I get the melting pot and actually make one, I will mail it to you. I made one but I can't get the photo to look right and NOW I HAVE TO WORK!!!! I am so mad at myself....
Hi, I am addicted to rubber stamping for over 10 years and I do not want recovery! I am quite happy living in denial with all my pretty stamps, cardstock, ink and glitter! Part of any hobby is collecting--I am still in the collecting phase!

Yes. Mostly PMC (I've been doing that for about 5 years now) and sterling...but mostly PMC. I got certification for PMC last fall. Last year, I've also spent some time doing simple beading stuff because silver got so expensive.
So, yayayaya...I'm an artist at heart. I love anything creative...I guess that really means I'm a ADHD artist at heart, because I move around and back again from craft to craft. (PS..I am also big into BW darkroom photography).
So, bottom line, I guess that means I'm a serious art junkie.
Ok-chest pain- I'm ok. So, at the meeting I tell her I cannot work the days she has randomly scheduled and she says in front of everyone "why not" real snippy. And I say, because I can't and she says well you did not tell me that and I say I tried to return your phone call but only got ringing and not voice mail and she say -in front of everyone-I put you on ignore. So I say 'well, there you go; I could not get in touch with you until tonight" She has me on the schedule to "phase out" the angry woman, who is out of town, so maybe she will get the hint that they are upset with her. She is using me to avoid firing the slacker. ok break again- dangit-
You know what you don't have to take this from her she put you on ignor. Well if I were you I would ignor her schedule and not show up and no chest pains. What a Witch I am so ticked right now.
I wouldn't be surprised... You know she's an overachiever like the rest of us. ;)

so anyway I have type a very curt but to the point letter that I am quitting and I cannot and will not be an emergency fill in person ever. I did tell her I would help but then she also had me scheduled to "babysit" another employee who has the first stage of Azlheimer's because she does not have the guts to fire her. None of us need the money-it was mainly to pay for their jewelry purchases. I do not buy their jewelry. I buy rubber stamps.
Oh and then as the meeting is ending, she announces that we (employees only have 4) will have community service she has set up. Again-wth-she does not set up anything for my personal life.

OMG, you are SOO funny. And SO darned gullible. And they are truly strange! She doesn't get what quitting means? Maybe you're being too easy on her.
There was this guy that liked me in college and he didn't get the message no matter how I said I wasn't interested in dating him. Really. I said, "No, i'm not interested in dating you.." and he didn't get it...so, I finally had to break away from all my southern gentile lady upbringing and just simply say..."I don't want to go out with you...you make me feel ill."
I think then, because there were also other witnesses and I ended up humiliating him in public, he got it.
I think this lady is similar. It's tough to deal with people who don't understand "NO." Especially if you are also uncomfortable saying "NO." (which I am assuming from reading that you are).
You have to repeat it the same way, with the same conviction, not changing your behavior, a million times in order for it to work...because they will try and wear you down.

Does it also shrink in the process? I use shrink plastic similiarly...when it's hot, you can use embossing fluid and stamp right into it. It's cool stuff.

Are you sending this letter with the keys? Since you don't need the money, you also don't need the aggrevation. And you don't need to feel guilty. You've tried to be nice and to the point. You tried to tell her your boundaries which were that you are working there anymore. You have done what you should. If part of why you are going ahead to do the work is because for some reason you feel obligated, you don't..and...Don't feel guilty.

Oh if you guys only knew! Love the you make me ill quote and since I am having chest pains I could legitimately use it. I did find the little yellow pill the doc gave me a few month back when I was dealing with my mother. Just enough to get me through 3 days UNLESS they act crappy today. then I am walking.

Woo Hoo and hall-e lu-ya! First off I got to work 30 minutes early to tell the owners instead of just handing them a letter. Guess what? He had locked the door and gone home to play on ebay. No kidding, locked a thousand dollar a pop jewelry store to go play. Go figure. So left the letter and waited. At 7:45 (we close at 8 ) he comes in with a cup of coffee and says in a snippy voice "since you are not happy let's make this your last night". I said "no, I made a commitment and besides who will run the store?" He said" I will just lock the door but you need to make this your last night". I tried to explain and before 2 words got out he left the store. I balanced and left my keys in the register. Butt head. But I am free! I am woman! Hear me roar! I am strong thong woman! Yippeee!

I dream of the day when I can just stay at home stampin' my heart away!! I am so ready to retire ... want to be able to get up in the morning when I want to get up, stamp or read or eat bon bons all day long, snuggle with my honey, and then go to sleep whenever I actually feel tired and not worry that I might get too much or too little sleep! I was taking inventory of my stamps, etc., and I am much in the same category as Bradley's_Mom .... think I will make a concerted effort to offer them for sale .... oh, that might be contributing to a Stampaholic falling off the ink pad!
I share your dream, you've made me decide to stop reading about "our" addiction and step up and be proud of my addiction. I dream of the day too that I don't have to do schoolwork. I should be going to bed RIGHT now but since I've been busy working on either work or schoolwork (I did go to my belly dance class but that is still work, even though it's fun) all evening and I need some me time.
I've next week off so besides taking my DBF for some tests on Monday and my spa day on Tuesday, the week is set aside for stamping, sleeping, reading, catching up the house too but that is WAY low on the list of things to do while I'm off........ohhhhhh........I CAN NOT WAIT!
