Ok, so what is an RSVP pen exactly? I've seen posts where people talk about making beaded pens with them, but what kind of pen do you buy to do this? Am I right in thinking that you use double-sided tape like SU's Sticky Tape to adhear the beads to the pen? I think I'd like to try this, but I'm not sure what kind of pens to get.
You get an RSVP pen, of course! :p It's a brand of ballpoint pen made by Pentel. They have nice, large barrels for inserting a piece of stamped copy paper, and a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser works to take the printed name off of the plastic. Here's what they look like:

Hi Mary! Yes, you can use sticky tape to adhere the beads. I'm going to make some of these pens for Christmas gifts this year. I will put them with a stamped memo pad or a journal made from a composition notebook.
Mary, I did my first RSVP pens this week--they are easy and fun to do! If you do a forum search and type in RSVP or microbead pens, it will take you to lots of threads with instructions. HTH Stacie
I love doing pens for my workshops and stuff. I haven't tried the beaded pens with it yet though. I just do regular ones. I take a peice of paper and stamp on it to match my folder or notebook or whatever it is I have and then I roll it up, unscrew the top of the pen and stick it inside and put the top back on. So fun, and easy and the customers love it.

we have tried several diff kinds and the RSVP pens do work best. Walmart has them the cheapest where we live. Watch Target the clear them out cheap sometimes. ( Hope u have Target. I thinkI would die without the place)
I found instructions on the HGTV site. You don't need a clear pen because you use a piece of tape to put the stamped paper on the pen barrel, and a second piece of tape to hold the beads. I'm using Terrifically Tacky Tape that I bought at Michael's. This comes in rolls and sheets. I prefer the sheets because the second piece of tape needs to be about 1/8 inch wider than the first. This works great and I can use any pen that is on sale.
