Is to give them to your 14 month old grandson to play with! He sat and played with them for 15 minutes, pulling them out of the bag, picking them up and spreading them out and then we put them on our heads and pulled them off! It was great fun! What else do you do with your supplies that might entertain the young set?
How cute!
I have a 19 month old boy and his favorite thing to do in my craft room is run around my design island (a kitchen island in the middle of my room). He'll stop every once in a while and play with the trash can (it has a swivel lid), but mostly he just runs in circles. Oh, and then his little eyes will catch the light from my computer on/off button, so he'll run towards that. Then he runs his hands across my 12 by 12 CS. Then he tries to grab everything off of my design island.....he's SO much fun, but I about have a heart attack when he's playing in my craft room. Even worse, when I come upstairs and my DH and my son are playing in my craft room together without me! Whoa, that is NOT a good sight.
He likes playing with the brown packaging paper that comes in the SU boxes. Oh, and he LOVES playing with my SU boxes when they arrive! I empty the box and hand it off to him and he can entertain himself for a LONG time climbing all over a box.
The other day one of my friends asked me if I let my son use my stamps. I laughed for a while! There's no way! I'm pretty sure he'd just try to eat them.
BetsyJo, that's a GREAT idea about the box and the paper! I have an order to arrive on Friday and my grandson will be with me for another 5 days! Yeah! I'll be interested to see what he does with it!
I have a 14 month old DD that loves boxes. I never thought of letting her use the SU package boxes. I just might have to place an order to get her a box. ;)
Yeah, ribbon scraps are great!! We flew cross country with our son when he was 16 MO (and I was 6 months pregnant!!) and I had a bag with pieces of ribbon to play with. It took NO room to pack, was quiet so didn't annoy other passengers, and it kept him ammused for quite some time.
I must say that my cat loves to stamp! Well, not really, but he hangs out in my stamp room/office about 80% of the time. He also plays with scraps of ribbon and LOVES the boxes and packing paper. That is him in my avatar playing Peak-A-Boo in the SU! boxes!
He also likes to sit on my Stampin' Scrub. He likes anything black really, but especially the scrub, his little butt fits on it perfectly!
that's a really little parrot. is he a young one? sorry to hijack, now back to your regualaryl scheduled thread.
He's a Green Cheeked Conure. He's only 4 months old, but he's full grown. His cage had to fit in my stamping room, so that limited the size of bird I could get! His cage is about 3 feet square, so it takes up quite a bit of stamping space!
Okay, done hijacking!!

My DD's (ages 6 & 4) love to make cards of their own. So they have my VERY old stamps and ink pads. And about once a month or so I go thru all CS and Ribbon scraps, keep what I think I may use, and then we split the leftovers (and there is alot!) between the girls craft box and the school's "Creation Station". The teachers love the scraps of everything since it keeps little hands busy during a down moment (not to mention, keeps those same little hands outta my craft cabinets since they have their own collection!)
