Question How to clean Versamark pad?

I've managed to dirty up my Versamark pad and I'm not sure how to go about cleaning it. I tried a papertowel and some Stampin Mist but it didn't do anything. When I use my Versamark pad, it leaves a darkish image, instead of the watermark image it should. Any ideas??? Thanks!

Sorry, I can't help you, but I will be watching this thread--Mine has everything from stray bits of embossing powder to ugly yellow splotches. It still works fine, (and they do get yellow over time) but I read you could just clean it with water and then re-ink it, but I tried that and it didn't remove the embossing powder bits...

I just scrape off the stray bits with a stiff piece of cs, then wipe it with a paper towel. I reink it, and squish the ink in, and it seems to clean itself.
It doesn't look brand new, but the "oops" ink on there fades.

Maybe use a papertowel to try to soak up some of the colored ink that is making the darker spots?

As far as embossing powder goes, I've given up on trying to get that out of mine. I just try to remember to tap the stamps a couple of times and do it in slightly different areas to try to get all the stamp inked up.

I've "heard" that you can "scrape" them nearly clean with a credit card...so far I've been "good" and haven't messed mine up - but the day is coming...LOL
Let us know if you find soemthing that works (or doesn't!).

Great, thanks! I'll try the papertowel, credit card and if all else fails reinking. I'll let you know how it goes!

I haven't researched this yet, but someone on SCS said that Versa Mark is just glycerine. If that's true, you can get glycerine anywhere. I have some glycerine that I bought to make a refill liquid for my blender pens. I just might try to see if it works for stamping.
