Are the wheels and handles at Michael's the same size and fit as SU wheels and handles? In other words, can i interchange them if i find something i like there?
I think the handles are roll-a-graph, right? I have a customer that's purchased some wheels at Michaels, and at one of the local stamp stores, and they fit.
Ya can't beat the coordination of stamp sets/wheels from Stampin' Up!, though!
Thanks for the tip ladies. I always wondered that myself but never found the motivation to try it.
Now, does anyone know if the ink cartridges they sell at Michaels will fit into the SU Stampin around hand rollers?
Did you know, that when SU retires a wheel, they can sometimes still be bought directly from Rollergraphics or from places like Michaels. I got a skeleton wheel a year ago, then aquired an old catalog only to find that SU had originally sold the wheel I had bought. Just before leaving CA last year I found our bat wheel in Tall Mouse. This is one of the reasons SU has no control over availability of the wheels, they don't manufacture them.
And yes, the cartridges fit too. Again, same manufacturer.
I've actually found that the rollograph ones are far inferior to the SU ones...I had several before finding SU and believe me, the ones from rollograph are no where as nice...the SU ones are much deeper etchings in the rubber that the rollograph ones.
At least the ones in Michael's in Canada are, for sure...and they're more expensive, to boot!
Yes, cartridges fit...

I wonder if there is a different plant that does the Canadian ones. I can't tell the difference in the two here. Granted SU's selection is far larger and, like I said, at least some of the ones in the stores are SU retired wheels.
If I am remembering correctly, they are all made by Clearsnap. Some of the newer SU! wheels were designed by SU! to match the stamp sets and those may never be seen at the stores. But most of the older wheels can be purchased anywhere, that is if they are still being manufactered.
