I'm coming to the realization that I am a slow stamper. I mean, when I'm creating, it can take me quite a while to design one measly card....
Today, with my set of cards that I finished, it took me about 3 hours. Granted, I made 4 cards and they are somewhat elaborate. But still!
So, I was wondering, how fast are you? I'd really like hear from the "bigwigs!"
And please, break it to me gently if I am just a really slow stamper! LOL!

I'm slow too!! I do not have a creative mind, so I have to have ideas from the gallery to go by, and even then, it takes me awhile!! But I do LOVE it!!! Karen.
I'm a slow stamper as well. I start with an idea and then think...hmmm...what if I use.....and before I know it ages have gone by and I can't see my table any more.
I too am slow, with stamping and my scrapping. Now that everything has been put away for Christmas, I'm afraid to start another project because I'll have to take out all my stuff again.
The actual stamping doesn't take me that long :-) it's the thinking of ideas, cutting cardstock, putting it together, etc that takes a long time for me.

It takes me forever and I end up pulling out everything and making a huge mess in my stamping area, but it is a fun process and usually a challenge! My works are not masterpieces, but I love creating them anyway
I am slow too. So, I start with all the favs that I want to do something similaar too. Then I can get more done in a shorter amount of time. If I just sit down to stamp without an idea I would never get one card done. Also, I flag pages in magazines in case I have a "block" which is most ot the time!!!!
I am another slow one. Takes me forever to do cards on my own. And when I go to events at my demo's I am always the last to finish. Part of it I think is I am too much of a perfectionist when it comes to stamping and putting my cards together. When I go to a stamp a stack at my demo's I will not assemble my cards (I'll do it when I go home) and I am still one of the last to finish.

Oh Martha, You've just described me! lol! And with my own cards, I have so many that are "a work in progress," they aren't quite finished, but I just have to look at them a while longer to figure out what they need. And when I do finally "see" it, and they're finished, I'm so tickled with myself! No artistic ability here, and lovin what stampin does for me! I have cards that can take days or weeks or... longer!
Hi, my name is peggysue and I am a slow stamper. Oh, sorry, I thought this was an SSA meeting (slow stampers anonymous!)
Very, very rarely I'll get an idea in my head and it will come together in under an hour. But last night I was struggling with the right set, right colors, right layers for the latest sketch challenge and I went to bed without coming up with anything decent. It waste a lot of CS too sometimes!
I've noticed though that even when I was into cross stitch, I was slow at that too. I think I'm craft-challenged.

It all depends on the day for me and how creative I feel. Sometimes I sit at my desk for hours and just play with different stamps and techniques until it all comes together. Then there are times when I pull some simple elements together and pop off a card in 15 minutes.
Sometimes it's good to take it nice and slow.....sometimes a quickie will do!!!! Snicker, Snicker

Takes me a long time too, and everything I own is all over my desk. Then I to go back and forth, back and forth, just like Sara, looking and thinking. Trying this and that.
Thanks! I feel much better!
I'm just a maniac when it comes to "my creations." I get into this groove - run back and forth from the desk to the closet - yes, it's as funny as it sounds - getting this and getting that.
For the most part, I do make original cards - so I think that's where the time goes. And then of course, I'm trying to impress you ladies!
Another random note: I have a really hard time when I go to shoebox swaps. I can't seem to follow directions and have my card look quite as good as the original. I'm a detail person, but seem to lose it when I have to copy something... totally cracks me up 'cuz I feel like I should be better, YKWIM?
I'm slow if I don't have an idea in mind... Meaning if I just sit down to stamp for the sake of stamping. But if I need to make a card for something specific I can whip it out pretty quickly. My cards aren't really technique heavy, or very ornate. Just quick and cute!
Another slow stamper here! But I'd like to think that I'm getting faster!!
Anyway, for me it's an enjoying break from everyday life! So if it takes me a few hours to get a card done It's worth it!
I'm verrry slow! I can work on a card most of the day if I start out in the design phase, which is the longest part for me. Part of that is still learning how to use everything since I'm not really experienced yet, so I hope my time improves gradually.
I too have that problem. In order to make myself feel better about taking so much time on one card, I will complete the one card to my total satisfaction and then mass produce it. I will do an assembly line and do one step at a time 4x and then by by the time I'm done I have a total of 5 cards done including the main sample. So I feel much better taking that time to get the 1st one done right and now I don't have such slow stamper complex anymore!
And another problem that is solved, is that since I've made so many extras, I don't feel so bad about giving them away! I can let my art babies go! ...Which is another issue/problem altogether. LOL!

The longest I have ever taken to create one single card was 12 hours, start to finish, including "think" time.
I'll admit that it wasn't just a random card; it had to meet certain parameters, use certain materials, and had to have a particular sentiment incorporated into it . . . and . . . by a deadline.
You'd think, that with 13 years of stamping and card-making under my belt, no way would it have taken 12 hours!!! I had to laff, too, when I did finish it, as I collapsed into a heap on the floor . . . with the exception of a single, itty, bitty word stamp, no rubbah was used in its creation!
In the end, I was actually very pleased at how it turned out, despite numerous and pathetically unsuccessful attempts, but, at the same time, GEEZE!!! TWELVE HOURS?????

And, as a side note, I don't think I'm super slow at workshops, etc. but the last time I went to a class, the stamper next to me (a total stranger) grabbed the dang stamp out of my hand not once but twice "to help me." Good think I don't carry a gun!!! LOL

I am slow because I am mega unorganized! I actually *tired* after I just straighten up my mess to START stamping!!! Where's the MSSA group meet at??? (messy slow stampers anonymous) I need to go and check in!
Actually, no. But, it will appear in print this spring. ;)

Heck yeah, good thing . . . Sheesh! Some people's children . . .

I'm really slow too. But I don't think that's a bad thing unless I am trying to meet a deadline. My problem is I have too much stuff! So I think I am indecisive as well as slow. But I actually enjoy the process of making a card so I don't care how long it takes really, as long as I am happy with the results!
I stamp in the dining room and so I have to put everything away as I use it so that we can eat at the table in the evening!  Although today I am getting a stamping room in our smallest bedroom woohoo, so I am moving!
At workshops, I'm pretty fast as it is all designed and cut out. BUT---at home, I'm much slower. The design process, selecting the colors and cutting can take a while. I usually design a card for a specific person and event. I take take so darn much time it doesn't leave time to make multiples. The few times I've had extra time, I have tried to make multiples and then it goes FAST! Anyway, I enjoy my stamping time and do not need to do a production line. Too bad I need to work outside and inside my home! Dust? What dust?

Ditto
I'll take an idea from the gallery, but I might change the colors or the stamp set. I take forever deciding how big to cut the different layers. I made one yesterday and went through three corner punches before I found the one I wanted. It doesn't help that I don't have a stamp room, so I have to keep walking around the dining room table to get out the things that I need.
I can definitely take two hours to make just one card.

You are too funny! There's one stamp camp I go to with a friend. The demo usually has a particular customer "help" people when she is busy. My friend and I would like to kick her in the back yard. Instead, we complain in hushed tones and try to get to a table where she isn't helping. Aaagghhh. The demo only comes when you call her for help. That other woman....aagggghhhh. We told her she should sign up. Then she would be too busy hosting her own events to help out at the ones we go to!

Sorry for the hijack.
By the way, to the OP, what an hysterical avatar!
I'm sorry, your evil plan cracked me!
(still giggling!)
