Default Quinceanera favor ideas?

Hi - I've been asked by a colleague at work if I can make favors for her god daughter's upcoming quinceanera in a couple of months. I'm meeting with her soon to talk about ideas, but wanted to bring some suggestions so I thought I'd reach out to the super helpful SCS community to see if anyone had ideas. I thought perhaps using one of the many cute dies out there to create packaging (although I don't know what is out there!). So if anyone has ideas for cute packaging dies or great favor ideas, I would love to hear them! Thank you so much!

This little box is on my wish list: Sizzix Bigz XL Die By Where Women Cook, 6" x 13.75", Scallop Box with Handle Holes - Walmart.com

And would look nice decorates something like this:

If you want to do something simpler, maybe a pillow box die. It's only 3/4" thick, so not sure what you could put in it. Hershey's kisses, hand sanitizer, jelly beans:
Sizzix Bigz Die - Box, Pillow

This die is for the huge PRO size Sizzix, but maybe you can cut something like this dress to go on a smaller box: Sizzix Bigz Pro Die - Box, Dress

I had to Google to see what quinceanera means. I learned something today. I usually do on SCS!

I hope she will have input as to the type of Favors she wants! You could do Hershey's kisses or Rustic Cuff jewelry!

One of my favorite favor box is the SU! matchbox. You could use her theme color to create the box and create a band in a complimentary color with her name and party date on it. It is a small box but you could fill it with mints.

Bugga, Quinceanera is the equivalent of a Sweet Sixteen. In the Hispanic community we celebrate a young ladies coming of age at 15 instead of sixteen. It is usually celebrated with a party and the birthday girl gets to wear a huge ball gown.

Thanks so much! I met with my colleague yesterday morning with the idea of using the Curvy Keepsakes box or a pillow box and filling it with chocolates. She loved the idea and will be presenting it to her god daughter to see what she thinks. I suggested personalizing it with something special that her god daughter loves. So the current thinking is perhaps adding a soccer charm... So we'll see what the verdict is next week. The main color is teal with the accent color being black. So it looks like lots of Bermuda Bay is in my future (if I do end up doing the favors). LOL

Miamiscrapper - thanks for the suggestion on the matchbox die. I forgot I had that in my stash so I never brought that up as an option. I'll bring a sample I already have to the office next week.

Thanks again, everyone!!

For all the money you spend on the Bigz dies or whatever you can put the $$ toward buying a Silhouette Cameo or Portrait. Here is just a sampling of the gorgeous boxes you can cut! Remember they can be ANY size not just one size.
99 cents versus over $30???

I have an older (original style) Silhouette but they no longer make carrier sheets for it. I wonder if any of the current carrier sheets would work. I would love to have the 12" Silhouette, but I'm really hesitant about investing in another costly machine if they're just going to discontinue it and the supplies it uses.

If you have an old cut mat you could lay it on a Newer mat and cut it to size for your older machine. You also might search the Internet for older mats. I don't know how wide you older Silhouette mat is so maybe a Portrait mat would work. I also have read a lot of people cut down Circut mats to use in their Silhouette. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the reminder about the Silhouette - I have a Portrait but have never had much luck with it so I only pull it out when I actually have time to sit down and "futz" around with it. I usually find it faster to use a die so I forget about my Portrait. Thanks for the heads-up! Maybe this weekend I'll give it a whirl again.
