Default Questions about RSVP pens

Although I've never done one of these, it seems like a good idea that I'll eventually end up trying. I just have a few questions...

Is this any pen that comes apart to allow the stamped piece of paper to be put inside, or is the "RSVP" pen actually a particular style or brand?

Why is it called an "RSVP" pen?

Sorry if these seem like silly questions...I'm just a little confused!

TIA!

Default pens

RSVP pen is the brand of choice for me! It has a straight barrel, so you can add paper to the outside without it crinkling! It is also a bit on the pricey side (.38-.65 a pen approx.), but they are nice pens so I think it is worth it. They are made by pentel. I know others have used other types of pens though. I don't insert my paper inside, I stick it outside for more of a "pop". HTH

The pen is a Pentel brand ball point pen, RSVP is the style. There is writing on the outside of the pen that you can rub off (vigorously) with 90% alcohol if you don't want the words on there. I think that any pen that has a clear barrel and that you can unscrew would work. You just stamp on a small piece of copy paper, roll it up around the ink insert, and put it back in the barrel. I also added a little double sided tape so that the paper wouldn't unravel too much, or it looks crooked. I found RSVP pens at Staples, 5 for about $4--any office supply store should have them. They turn out nice.
