They're clear. I'm not sure how I feel about the clear yet. I thought I loved them (ctmh ones)---the concept of being able to see where you're stamping. But, the image just doesn't look as crisp. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.
FYI, creativexpress has a ton of great deals right now on provocraft. The cricut is $179 and the cartridges are $49. That's where I always buy my coluzzles....for dirt cheap.
I have some older Provocraft stamps and really like them. I haven't had any problems with them other than on one or two the clear plastic yellowed some. Doesn't affect the stamping, just the look of the block.
That's a good deal..I have been hesitant to buy clear stamps, as I have not used them before, but this is such a good deal I might have to invest just to see if I like it!!!!

I haven't used these particular ones, but in my opinion with the less clear images, it's not you it's the stamps. that's one of the problems I have with acrylics. they just don't consistantly give clear images like you get with rubber. but it's still fun to play with them sometimes. I'm not completely anti-acrylic, but they'll never be my favorites either. I say if you like 'em and they're a great deal then go for it!

I understand, just like rubber wood mount stamps, there are good ones, and not so good ones. Someone has mentioned that the Angel Company Stamps leave a great impression. However, as cute as they are Autumn Leaves clear stamps, do not.
Maybe someone could list for us which clear stamps are the best? ;)
I have a couple of clear alphabets from Provo Craft and I have been really happy with them. My only complaint is when it comes time to clean the stamps, it's hard to use my Stampin' Scrub because the little letters usually pop off the acrylic block while I'm scrubbing. I imagine this would only be a problem with the really little stamps though. HTH

Yes! The Angel Company unmounted Rubber Stamps Leave Great impressions!!
Our Stamps use a Clear Acrylic Block instead of a Wood Block. You can see where to stamp.
I have a couple of Clear Stamps And they have yellowed and do not give Good impressions.
I don't like the fact that there is not cushion for these types of stamps.
I know that you can put a piece of foam under the Clear stamp. But sometimes I forget to do that.
And this makes for a bad impression.
So I stick with my TAC, SU and other Rubber stamps.
PS: I'm not knocking anyone that LOVE clear stamps. It just not my cup of Tea!
Make sure you keep your acrylics out of direct light, especially sunlight as this will turn them yellow. But even if they do turn it doesn't effect them at all.
There are 2 ways to tell if the acrylics you are buying are going to be a good quality, one is price, you get what you pay for If they are super cheap (not on sale but retail) then they are probably going to be cheap quality too. Also if they need to be pulled apart or trimmed they are made a different way than quality acrylic and won't give you a very good image.

I don't think Price has anything to do with it. It's the quality of the material used! I paid a pretty price for my Acrylic stamps and they are both yellow, and have a crappy image. My stamps are NOT store in direct sunlight.

I have the "let it snow" set from provo craft and overall it's pretty good. The square block stamp never stays flat, but that's my only gripe. This set is actually black rubber and you use it with acrylic blocks, no problem with staining.
I too have the let it snow set. I just did a workshop with it as the company I am a demo for sells this set. It was a big hit and almost everyone there ordered it. I am going to add that it is the black rubber but is used like the acrylic stamps. As far as using the acrylic stamps I find that to get a clear crisp image every time you need a piece of foam under your paper you are stamping onto. CTMH sets come with a sheet of foam with every set just for this purpose. Give it a try.
I also really like the baby set from provo the images are darling! I think I may have to get that bbq set. Thanks for the heads up on the site!

If you're suppose to use Foam under these Acrylic stamps, Then why is CTMH the only company that provides it??
The set's that I have bought from other companies Do Not include Foam with their Stamps.
I know that the TAC stamps already have the foam built into them. I just know that when I was reading in the ctmh catty it was a suggestion on how to make the images come out better.
Also a note to mysonshine thanks for the enabler alert I had to place an order. I couldn't pass up that deal on those stamp sets! Plus I LOVE Wild asparagus paper!
I don't want to pile on unwanted advice about clear stamps, but in addition to needing to put a little foam sheet under the paper, another technique that helps GREATLY with impression quality is to not push the stamp as hard as you would with traditional rubber stamps. A light touch and a bit of cushion can make all the difference, tho I know these stamps are not for everybody.

Yes TAC stamps come with foam already! But TAC stamps aren't Acrylic Stamps. They are made out of Rubber just like SU stamps.
when I was talking about other stamp companies I was talking about other Clear Acrylic Stamps.
So, you put the foam under the paper that you're stampin on? How is it built into the TAC ones?? I'm confused? Is it on the back of them?
TAC stamps come in the form of a Sheet of Rubber and a Full Sheet of Ez-mount foam come too.
Just peel the backing off the Sticky side of the Cling foam and attach it to your Rubber Sheet.
Then peel off the paper from the clingy side and Cut them out.
Our stamps use a Acrylic Block instead of a Wood Block.
