Pros and Cons of having an internet upline?

I've noticed a few mentions of recruiting online. Is this a relationship that works well, as opposed to having your upline right there with you?

I've heard many many people that have downlines all across the country and it works very successful. I've also heard that people have downlines within a mile of each other that have a horrible working relationship. It truly depends on the two people and their computer skills. I have a downline that is 3 hours from me in another state and we work extremely well via phone and email!

I have 6 sweet women in my downline, four of them are in other states. Since my husband is in the military signing up with me will eventually mean having an upline far away. I try to contact my girls at least once a month...am always there for questions and concerns. I don't think it matters how far you are away .... just that you always have an open ear and hopefully some good suggestions for your group members.

My upline is in Texas and I am in Oklahoma and it has worked out really well. We use e-mail all the time and she is wonderful about e-mailing me back and answering all my questions and sending me all kinds of wonderful goodies in the mail.

I am blessed with a teriffic upline. She lives right down the street from my parents, and is very helpful, and encouraging. However, when she signed, her upline moved to England! She's done great despite of it.

I also know that she has other downline in other states, and she communicates w/ them.

You can still participate in swaps, and stuff via snail and email. Also, since she would be in a different area, she can tell you whats 'all the rage' where she lives.

I am recruiting a friend of mine in Colorodo, (I live in Arkansas), I'm just going to send her ever thing we do in our meetings, and any other new stuff. Im also going to encourage her to find some stampin up buddies in her area to keep her active. Hopefully, someone will adopt her, so she will have some area support!

I've been wondering about long distant downlines... this thread came up when I searched. I don't have a downline yet but this is encouraging.
