Question Prismacolor & Gamsol VS. Watercolor Crayons

Okay, I am having a dilemma... I am a demo, but am fairly inactive because I have been living out of the US for about a year. I still sell to my customers in the States, but don't buy much myself because I have to pay for shipping twice (once to someone in the states, and once to come here) plus 16% duties. Not to mention the currency conversion rate is horrible right now.

Anyways...

I have a cheap, small set of watercolor crayons, and LOVE them! I want the SU colors, but don't know if it's worth all of the extra money to get them here.

I am toying wih the idea of getting a larger set of artist-grade watercolor crayons here from the art supply store, or getting Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol, which I've never tried.

What are your thoughts, for those of you who have used both? It's just for my personal use, not to demonstrate with at workshops, so I just want to know what YOU all like best.

Thanks for your input!

I have the prismacolor and the gamasole. I am going to get the crayons on my next order but I don't have crayons at all. I hear you can color right on the stamp and I think I like that. I like the prismacolor but it seems a bit to labor instensive and the crayons look easier. I don't know, I am going to foot the money for the crayons.

I am not a demo, and really debated over this as well. So you are asking a good question. I chose to go with the prismacolor pencils and gamsol. I purchased a large set of pencils through Viking last year, and absolutely love them. There are so many colors to choose from, and I love how you can intensify the colors using gamsol. To me the pencils were easier to handle. I have tried the crayons through my demo and like them...but I am very pleased with my choice. Just my thoughts....good luck.

I have never tried the watercolors crayons , but I do have the full set of prismacolor pencils and I LOVE this technique! I love the vibrant colors and how easy it is to blend colors together!

Thanks so much everyone! I think I am going to go with the Prismacolor and Gamsol... Michaels has them on sale this week, so that's where I'm headed!

Thanks again!!!
