Please help me: I made a post-it note keychain, and I have a few questions. How do you punch a hole through the post its? It wouldn't fit in my 3 hole punch or my Crop-a-dile without tearing the pad in half.
Also, how do you get the post-its to stay in the holder? After I tore the pad in half and stuck it back together, the post-its had a tendency to turn on the ring so they were "out" of the cover.
I haven't made one of these myself, but I found this video tutorial that looks really good. I haven't watched it in a while, but I would guess that it would have some of the answers to your questions. Hope this helps!
You don't use the whole post-it. Just split it into whatever size your largest hole punch will go thru. I use a piece of double sided carpet tape, or red sticky strip on the bck of the post it notes to adhere them to the cardstock.
Or, you could not punch a hole through it at all and just stick it inside the covers with a little repositionable glue. I have a tutorial on my blog, under 'tutorials'. I did it a bit differently from some of the other tutes out there.
Poor lady in the first tutorial. She handles her minor error very well, I must say. But if she had CTMH My Acrylix Stamps, she would have been able to see through the stamp and position it correctly the first time, instead of getting at "eye level" and craning her neck to check her position.
Katarina- I love your version. Thanks for sharing!

I'm pretty sure you're just trying to sell your acrylic stamps, but I could only hope to make the one minor mistake!! I thought it was a great tutorial!
About these post-it keychains....Why would you want to punch through all the papers? Doesn't that make it difficult to use the post-its without ripping them off the keyring? I must be missing something.

Nancy, I was wondering the same thing. And I can't quite tell from the tutorial if she has punched the papers through the sticky end or the loose end. Then again, maybe one is just supposed to remove the book ring. I'm not quite sure. Maybe they are just decorative anyway.
I like how Katarina has done hers without the hole dilemma!

Yeah...what she said. Good thinking! I never even thought about that.
Thanks for sharing the video. I just made a dozen of these in less then 45 minutes. they are great little gifts for friends. the rings i found were 1 inch and 5 came in the container for 1.50 Walmart had them.
I make these but I do NOT punch through the post its. I use the hi-gloss cardstock from SU as it is much stronger. I make the holder a bit larger and punch the hole at the top and place a large eyelet. Then a keycheain goes through it. When i use a post it, I want it to come of fthe pack easy and not have a hole in it. I then attach a small circle of velcro.
People love these. I also can use a whole little pack of the post its for each one. I love making these with the little post its. They are a perfect size.

Hi......I'm not the best at arithmetic and am having a difficult time figuring out the dimensions of the paper to start with. The measurements in the picture are not very clear and don't run in sequence, instead they are individual. Be easier if they were printed in the text.
Can someone tell me what dimensions for the cover paper?

I like all the styles!!! You guys are great. And your tutorials are top notch!
I will try them all...DH doesn't need dinner tonight anyway, does he? I do think I like the idea of not punching a hole in the post-it pad. I would be a pain to yank it off the pad.
