Default Looking for stuff like Hodgepodge Hardware

Hi everybody. Hope you're all having a wonderful Thanksgiving.

I had a quick question and am hoping someone can help me. In the Hodgepodge Hardware kit, there are some sliders to put on ribbon that look like simplified buckle things. Something like this [I] that you slide the ribbon oven and under. I don't want to buy the whole kit as I have so many things similar to to the rest of the kit. But I do want those buckle-like things. I can't find them anywhere. I frankly don't even know what they're called, so I can't really do an internet search. (searching for "buckle-like things" doesn't really work in Google :o)

Does anyone know where I might find some or know what they're called? I thought sure Making Memories would have some, but alas, nothing.

Thanks!

I too thought the same thing and just ended up buying the whole kit! If you find them I would be interested!

I think Making Memories calls them 'ribbon charms'. You might try searching for that. Good luck.

Gypsies huh? Would have never guessed it. At least I know what to search for now. I tried ribbon charms and got different things back. Thanks!

It looks like the 7 Gypsies brand has some different styles from what Stampin Up has. Does anyone know who sells the ones from Making Memories? I looked on their site but found nothing. I've also looked at M's and HL.

Howdy- why don't you try this site:

http://www.herrschners.com/search.as...bon+slide&tab=

They have some great stuff. I use Herrschners for many of my embellishments- they have super fast shipping, a ton to choose from that I can't find elsewhere, and I think I have ended up with free shipping a few times.

Hi!
I bought the die from Sizzix, it's called "Charms, Buckles," I can use cardstock of any color. Even fabric, fun foam and light metals.

Another die that I bought and haven't played with much is called "Hinges, Latches, Handle & Photo Turns". It's little hardware that can also be cut out and used on cards or pages. Looks like fun, but I need to make the time to use the pieces.

It's the usual excuse, lots of ideas, buy the stuff and then have trouble finding the time. I hoping that since I'm off during Winter Break I'll lock myself in my stamp room and just play. That's what I want for Christmas, time to play. LOL!!!

TAC (The Angel Company) carries them, they are called ribbon charms. They have 3 shapes - rectangles, squares & ovals, each have styles. Each shape comes in a pack of 8 (probably 2 of each style), for $2.95 (plus tax & shipping and handling). Looks like they are all an antique copper looking color.

This is the "thrifty" method I guess (I'm cheap!) ... soda can tabs. Not my original idea, I CASED it from someone here. Here's an example...

Default Hodgepodge Hardware

I was just going to say pop can lids as well, you can even spray paint them different colors.

Have fun!

Making Memories does make these. I have a bunch of them. They come in different styles - 8 in a pack. I got mine at my LSS

great minds .... I was also going to suggest soda pop tabs- I've been saving them for my next designs :-). I am surprised I haven't seen more people using them- they're very economical- and you can paint them to your liking.

one of the local scrapbooking stores sells them but they are expensive, not sure if that is a problem. They only have like a silvery color to them and they are smaller than the ones from SU but they do work the same. You might also try Big Lots, I went and they had white ones but have had nothing sense, they also had snaps(love snaps) and they haven't had any of them sense either.

I really like skybluepink.com. They have various types of metal things and great prices.

I first read about this site here at SCS and have since spent waaaay too much money there.
