Default Pigment/Hybrid ink pads

Hello! I'm in the market for some pigment/hybrid ink pads. I've found some great colors from Avery Elle and My Favorite Things. Any recommendations?

I bought a couple ColorBox pigments inks today at Michaels. I'm going to try them out- any other suggestions?

I love Colorbox Chalk Ink and use mine all the time. I find they get better coverage than dye inks on solid stamps. Just be aware that they will stain photopolymer stamps. That doesn't stop me - I don't mind stained stamps as long as I get good images.

Hope you enjoy yours!

Hi Rachelrose! Is the pigment the same as chalk ink? Thanks for the info!

Hey Erin! Both are made by Clearsnap, but chalk ink is considered a "hybrid", which is a kind of pigment ink/dye ink mix. They dry to a matte finish, and can be heat set to be permanent on most surfaces. I just happen to start out with Colorbox Chalk, and loved it so much I never got around to trying their pigment-only inks. You'll have to tell me how you like them.

Here's link to Clearsnap, and you can see their different inks:

and here's an article on chalk inks:

I love my Mama Elephant Pigment Inks. Apparently they are the same as Avery Elle so it is a matter of choosing your colors. ME ones seems a tad bit brighter so I went for those.

I think that Mama Elephant, Avery Elle, Fresh Ink (from Impress) and A Muse Studio sell the same ink formulation (not sure but the cases are identical).

If you like that formulation (I love it), it is a question of color choice, price, and whether you want the ink to match cardstock. Good luck!

I have a mix of Avery Elle, Mama Elephant and Fresh Ink. I like the Fresh ink the best in terms of color but they all seem to stamp the same. Mama Elephant seems to have the brightest colors. I like the Fresh Ink because the colors are a little more subtle. I buy some Avery Elle mostly because JoAnn's sells it on sale a lot. For me buying the refills is really important too. I like to keep my segments juicy.
