I will be going to Phoenix this weekend. Last year I found a great little rubber stamp store in Old Scottsdale which I will return to. I have more time to go other places this year. Any recommmendations? I stamp and scrap. Do you know if any place has any classes, demos, or make 'n takes this weekend?
Thanks in advance.
I live in Tempe, and in Mesa we have the WORLD'S BEST scrapbook store! (Ok, so I gave it that designation myself, but it really does rock!!)
It's Scrapbooks Etc. (www.scrabpooks-etc.com) on University and Lindsey. They are owned by the wife of the owner of Bazzill! They have a huge selection and are very friendly. And the classes rock.
I spend WAY too much money there!!! You'll be in town this weekend...???
You might try this store (http://www.thecreativequest.com/index.html) which is located in Glendale. Judy Ross is one of the owners and travels around the country teaching classes. She's been on TV several times on the scrapbooking program. You can click on the calendar at the bottom of the page to see what class is being held this weekend.
Another place to visit would be Xpedx in Tempe. They have a lot of stamps as well as ink pads and the stamps are discounted. Most of their inventory consists of Hero Arts, Denami, and Magenta - all favorites of mine. And of course, they have a ton of paper.
I'll have to see if I have the name of the place I went to in old Scottsdale.
I'm there for a business meeting but I'm staying for a day with a friend. I'll map these places and see which ones I can get to. thanks for all the ideas.

We are in the area for a few days - just stopped at Xpedx today. I did not get any stamps, but they do have a nice assortment. I got some cs but the main thing I was looking for was envelopes. I was happy with the selection and the price. I did not get the ones that match the paper and cs, but got a box of white and a box of cream A2 size-250 in a box. I thought the quality was very good, and price per envelope was less than the ones at WalMart. (Sorry, I don't recall exact amount and I left the things in the car.LOL!) Single sheets of cs were $.15. Box prices varied.
Papers Plus is good place for paper also, they are at 5295 W. Phelps which is about 51st ave. & Bell in Glendale. Not sure how they are price wise compared to Xpedx though. Red Rubber Stamps and Recollections are my picks. There is a new Scrapbook store that opened in Surprise called Keepsake Trends but that maybe a little far to go from Scottsdale. You just missed the Rubber Stamp Expo this past weekend in Old Town Glendale. There was alot of new stuff and tons of Stamps for sale. Good Luck and enjoy your stay here in AZ. The weather should be good this weekend! ;)
