Thank you to Karen, Chris and Sue for the beautiful cards.
We are expecting a winter storm on Thursday that is supposed to leave us with a measurable amount of snow and daytime temps below freezing and nights in the negative for 3-4 days.
I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and stay safe.
Stay safe and cozy everyone! My husband hates cold weather and says he wants to be somewhere tropical instead! I don't mind the cold, but this is much worse than I'm used to. I'm wearing my jacket and sweatshirt indoors all day...but at least I took off my knit muffler, haha!

So, my family has dodged the COVID bullet all this time, but two of my grandkids tested positive today! We were supposed to go to my daughter's house for Christmas,, and my son and his wife came down for the festivities. Now we will host my son and his wife, and try to get together with daughter and family once everyone is well again.
Hopefully, they won't get too sick, but what a crazy week!
Hope you're all staying healthy and safe.
Karen
So sorry to hear that Kazeka! Hope they are all well soon!
Lisa, you can start a thank you thread if you'd like. Sounds like a nice idea!
Hope everyone had a good Christmas!

Chris, when you start the new PIF thread, would you please put a link here or at least make note of it here? That way we won't have to keep checking for it....or forget there is a new thread and wonder why things are so quiet here. Thank you!
The new thread is for thank you notes to the person sent items so they don't get mixed in with the actual offerings, as i understand it. Is it something else?

It is to say Thank You to the person who sent the items or any other chatting that you want to do. This thread is full of thank you, medical updates, chatter, etc. It made sense to have a thread for that kind of talking other than the offers.

There are going to be two new threads. One is a new Pay it Forward thread for 2023. The other is Lisa's thread for notes of thanks and other chatter.

Sorry if I disagree. I think the chatting is what makes a thread into a group, friendly, involved with each other. Separating into two threads seems unnecessary to me, but that's just me. I don't have any problem figuring out what is being offered, I just read.

Pat, several people feel that the offers are getting lost at times. This happens on other threads as well. The Send a Card/Receive a Card thread has a separate Thank You thread where you can say thanks, post a photo of the card received or anything else and it really helps keep the other one uncluttered. This Thank You and Chatter thread could be a wonderful place where people will share what they did with the item they received.
Chatting on a thread does not bother me. I, too, look back to see what is being offered.
When I ask for an item, I send a PM to that person and most always send a PM of thanks rather than post on a thread. I just like keeping that part private. If that person sends a card or extras with the item, then I feel that is personal and the person offering items may or may not have sent something extra to others so not mentioning it on a thread then they do not feel left out.
I sometimes send "extras" with say a stamp set if it seems to go with that theme and I no longer want the extras. I may not have something extra to add to everything I offer; however, I do not want others to feel left out so privately thanking the offering person seems to be best.
So, with that being said, I may not post my expression of gratitude online.
Sorry to ramble, but I hope it makes sense.

Makes sense to me. I feel the same. I will continue to send my thanks privately for the reasons you stated. Also, if someone has been generous enough to share something with me and pay the postage to do so, the least I can do is thank them personally.
I don't mind looking back in the thread for things and in a way it is easier for me to just have everything in one thread. However, I can see the benefits of a separate thank-you thread and whatever works best for everyone else is okay with me. After all, this whole PIF thing is a privilege.
Thank you, Lisa and Chris for starting new threads for the PIF group. I love being able to pass on those craft items that I don't use anymore, and know that they will have a new home. I also really like getting to know the members of this forum, and hear about their daily lives as we all share a love of crafting.

Here is the link for the 2023 Pay It Forward thread. Feel free to post at whichever till the first of the year.
Thank you Kazeka!
Was nice of Lisa to start a new one, as I get easily confused, so I wouldn't do well keeping up with two threads.
Hope everyone is staying safe and warm!
