Dh and I are enjoying V-DAY in Vancouver, BC...still quite a few hours away from home. I am sitting in a hotel room with VERY slow internet service so by the time I read replies they are already a minute to two behind!

I tried to talk her into it, Lynn. Remember my first shoebox swap? Lol, I did more than dive in...I planned an entire gathering and then JUMPED IN!
Best way to learn, that's for sure. Nothing beats "hands on" experience.
Bonnie and Kim, you are west of me. There's nothing wrong with being a Country Gal. My late Grandfather spent the last few years of his life in Ridgetown..and I have family in Chatham.
Hahaha!! I just moved here from Chatham and grew up in Wallaceburg!! BIG city girl....hahaha!
 Not really. Had left over spagetti for dinner so that I could make it to the party in time. Hubby has to work early so no special plans. Listening to my kids jumping around playing super heros behind me.

Monica- I'm free just about any weekend. This weekend is full, but you just let me know and we'll get together.

A shoebox swap is where you cut all the card stock and include all the embellishments, put them in a shoebox (or a reseanable faxsimile) and each person makes their own card. Does that make sense?

Hey Alli! Glad you made it back! I just got my luggage delivered tonight - at least it came right?!!
Niki- it's where you bring 1 completed card and then the supplies (cardstock, ink, stamps, whatever you used to create the card) You put the paper pieces into a ziploc bag and set them at a table. People then go around to each table and create the cards.
Does that make sense?

Hey Molly!
I haven't tried to get in the forum in awhile. I never could get in.

Is there a print of the card to make with the items?? Or you come up with your own design from the contents included??

Hmm. Sounds fun. I've been using some kits with my scrapbooking lately. I don't put them together like they have in the instructions, just make them my own. It makes it nice to have something put together, though. I bet it would be fun to do some cards like that, too. Might make me break out of some of my habits!
