I'm sure there is a better way, but...

I made some paint cans long before I got into stamping, and I used a button that was the same size as the round part for the handle. I would trace around it and cut it out with a razor blade (with cardboard underneath).

Default paint cans

I used 2 pieces of designer series paper, I cut each piece 10 3/4 length and 7 3/8 width. On the 7 3/8 side of the paper I inserted a circle punch, I think it is considered a 1" size punch, it actually is just a tad bit smaller than an inch, I inserted it all the way till the paper reaches the back of punch, then i measured 11/16 " from the edge of the punch to the end of the paper , be carefull not to move it, then punch your circle. Do the same thing in the other piece. You do have to remove the handles, then tape each piece on, they will overlap about a 1/2". I used the 1/4" terrifically tacky tape, worked great. I hope I explained that well enough.
