Default Ought to be ashamed, but...

I really ought to be ashamed, but frankly I am NOT!!!! I spent the best $25 today. I hired my niece to come over and clean house (vacuum, dust, change linens, clean bathrooms, do a few dishes, and catch up on my laundry for me).

Now I live alone and should easily be able to do these chores, but somehow for the past 2 weeks I have been playing catch as catch can with them (alot of evening and weekend events occuring:eek: ). So now my house is clean and it is only Tuesday, and I can play every evening in my scrapbook/stamping room!! WOOOHOOOO!!!!!!

It was so nice to walk in and find the house clean clean clean!!!!

Why be ashamed? She probably needs the $$$, you needed a job done. Simple as that. I can't wait until my daughter wants $$$ more (right now she doesn't care too much!) so that I can have her do a lot of cleaning! ;)

Yes, Laura can always use the $$$$$ (cash under the table). Ashamed because I should be able to keep up a house for one person and two cats, but frankly rather pay her and get to play, play, play.....lol I have done this twice lately.... once in December (right before our Family Christmas) and today. Think I may start doing this once a month for my own sanity!!!

I am so very jealous!!! I would love to pay someone to come clean for me! My most hated thing to do is clean the fridge! Good think I did it yesterday, now it doesn't have to be done for a while!

Enjoy your clean house!

I used to pay my MIL and it was nice. I'd pay someone now if I could afford it and my dh would let me (he's weird about having strangers in our house).

I love hiring my neighbor girls to help with that. I usually only get to in the summer. But, my dd had pressure on her to help, so she learned more from them! And I don't mind buying free time! I figure it is a service to them- they are learning the joy of hard work, and they are getting paid! LOL! They love it, so it works out well for all!

What do you mean "you are ashamed"? I readily admit I live alone and pay someone $60.00 a week to clean my house. For me it is a matter of priorities. My time is my most valuable possession and it goes too quickly, once it is gone, you never get it back, I would rather spend my time doing the things that are truly important to me - spending time with my family and friends, crafting, reading, taking care of my health, baking, walking, etc. I'm not saying I never clean - I re-organize and clean shelves and cupboards like crazy, but it is when I want to.

My husband is the same way. (He's in law enforcement and I think he is naturally suspicious of everyone!) When we were both working insane hours, I begged him to let me hire someone to clean. So instead he had to do more of the cleaning himself. Actually he has always been really good to help with the house work (even now that I am a SAHM) so I know I am lucky. But he is away right now for a few weeks for work and I am having a SU workshop at my house tomorrow night. I think I would gladly pay $25 right about now to have sparkling floors and mirrors.

He did let me hire someone to do yard work once. . . I guess that was different because the guy never came into the house.

Default Houscleaning

What a wonderful gift to give yourself....and don't feel ashamed. You deserve time to do as you please and are helping someone along the way -- your niece.
So, enjoy your gift. I have a lady vacum for me every week and it is a real blessing.
