My Classic Stamp Pads even work? I tried several times last night and they didn't seem to want to dry. What am I suppose to be doing to them? Do they need to be "set" with something?

I think that Staz-On is the best thing to use on paint chips. The classic doesn't work because of the finish on the paint chips (imagine stamping on a painted wall with classic ink...it definitely wouldn't work in a humid house!) I have never tried to set classic or used craft ink on the paint chips. The one and craft pad is white and I hate it! If you are successful with craft ink, let us know because that would definitely expand the colors. Also, I have never tried to emboss on a paint chip, but I would think that would work also...
Good luck experimenting!!
I find that the super glossy paint chips are harder to work. So I've learn to use a little sand paper and rough it up abit before stamping on them.
This way if you don't have Staz-on ink.
the other paint chips with a flat finish work well without sanding.
I have stamped on paint chips with the classic stamp pads. After stamping, I use my heat gun to set the ink. I still try not to touch it after heating also. Good Luck!
Granny we sure are in sync lately. I'm working on my paint chips right now. I use the classic ink but let them dry for awhile before I touch them. It does take some time. I haven't had success with the Stazon, it tended to smear. the heat gun and embossing are great ideas. Pearl Ex does not work too well on the glossy surface of the paper. Hubby went to the Depot this afternoon and brought me back some more samples. I now call them my "5 finger discount designer paper".
Have fun being creative- Cyn

I have only used one of mine so far - I sanded and then embossed on it for the shabby chic technique challenge: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Funny this comes today - I happened to be thinking about "checking out" a few new colors when we were at Sears today replacing our washer & dryer... but alas, I was able to keep my hands to myself!
Granny, I was thinking of you today and wondering what you had decided to do with all your paint chips! Do let us know how your day goes tomorrow. By the way, have you seen the snake again? I still get the "willies" when I think about that.
Granny, I've used the Staz On with no problems, but my favorite is chalk inks. Just let them sit for a few min, and they're dry! Didn't matter if the stamps were detailed or not.
