NHL Logos

I know NHL logos are copyrighted but I am curious , can you use a logo
on a card for your own personal use?
My grand son's birthday is tomorrow and he is a Pittsburgh Penquins fan.
He will be going into the city on Friday to see Sidney Crosby as Sid is bringing home the cup.
He asked for a Pittsburgh hat for his birthday and I wanted to make him a card with the Penquin logo.

Gel-a-tins has a stamp set of NHL logos. Not sure if it's still available.

If it is for personal use, you should be okay, it is when you try to profit that there is an issue.

It is perfectly alright as long as you do not sell your card. Here is something I made recently for my son's girlfriends birthday. He did a "Met's" theme and they went to see the Met's play.

I have used the odd logo for personal use when I made certain I couldn't get what I needed for the project.

I have used tags off of licensed merch too when it worked.

My advice is if you blog it/gallery it put it next to the gift so they can see that you do purchase their merchandise when it is available and definitely explain that it was personal use. ;)

I have seen on the cake shows (yup I seem to be addicted to those) that they make loads of Team logo or mascot or arena type cakes for people seemingly without issues.
