I must say I am very grateful that my SU demo mailed me a catty. You know who you are...thanks so much!
I thought I would start a thread about little things that make you go ahhhhhhh.....or where in the world is it?
I have a where in the world is it moment. Love the Wonderfully Worn background, but cannot find a sample of it used in the catty unless it is so subtle I cannot see it. I was thinking it may be the card on page 110....Thankful for..... Looks like it was stamped onto the pacific point grid dp or no? If that is the sample, what ink would that be? craft white... more dull than craft, no?
Some ahhhh moments for me.....
p. 74 Bottom right...the two-toned modern label detailing.
p. 107....created decorative stick pin topper with punches bottom left.
p. 149 treat box bottom left....which die cut makes that window? Is that a precut kit?
p. 17 Bottom left... love the bird popped up with the wing popped up
p. 35 Love the "peace on earth" card - the colours, the textrue and dimension
p. 66 Love all the samples, the colour scheme, lace and flowers
p. 103 Love the "for you" box, the lace again, the pearl in the flower, the layers
p. 132 "kind" card, love the butterfly using emboss resist and the whole card overall
p. 138 Top left corner, love the butterflies and the flourish background on two of the cards
p. 163 Like the fold out box showcasing new stuff
p. 200 Love the new owl punch and the sample
OK I'll stop and give someone else a turn! Fun thread, thanks!

I have searched the catalogue a few times looking for a sample of this one too - nowhere to be found. I'll check out the page you suggest. I need to see a sample before it goes onto my "want" list to make sure that it isnt too close to something I already have ... hard to tell.

pg 94, the cute s'mores treat box
pg 197, the adhesives chart is a great information box
p195 , the distressing kit
p 134, the apron with recipe card in pocket
p 131, the card in the middle- I really that one
p 116 top left- the stitching
p36- love love love those greeting card kids
where are the letters that are in the picture on pg 143?

Deb, after closer inspection, the card I mentioned uses the dp on page 174 called Blueberry Crisp. This dp looks the same...sort of distressed. So, I really do not see that background used at all.
For wonderfully worn, I searched the pdf of the supplies and it doesn't come up anywhere. Doesn't mean it isn't used, but they didn't type it in the supply list either.
I have a question though.... on pages 19 and 207 (and somewhere I can't find off hand) there is a folded box. In the supply list they clearly list the window sheets used on page 19 and more mustard textured cardstock on page 207, but they don't list the die that makes this box. Doesn't anyone have a pattern for it or know the die used? I really like the box and can't find it listed anywhere. TIA!

I love Wonderfully Worn, too, Betty! It's on my list. I think the card samples in this new catty have really been stepped up. There's so many awesome examples.
My ahhh moments....
pg. 27 top left...I love how softly the pumpkins and gourds are colored. So realistic. Must CASE!
pg. 37 top left...Love the red punched holly berries and the tag over the wreath.
pg. 45 top middle...Love Santa's glittery red hat! So cute!
pg. 97 top left...Love the softly watercolored butterfly and flower!
pg. 115 top right...Love the vegetables stamped closely to make a background.
pg. 192 Both cards...I'm crazy for both of these examples!
Now I just need a rich relative to leave me a bundle of cash!

Taking a look at page 97 again, I wonder if the top left and far right samples use the Wonderfully Worn background stamp? If so, it's very subtle and so pretty!
Oh, and I forgot to mention...pg.123, the two hanging on the right. I love the colors and the vintage look of them both...beautiful!!!

Oooh, good call. Howsabout the white card on the cover? I can't tell if it's speckled or Wonderfully Worn.

I think you're right about the white card on the cover. Love that Square Lattice embossing folder on that sample, too. It's the first thing on my list. I love the samples made with it here on SCS...how did I miss it in the Summer Mini?! Aren't those buttons pretty on the Crumb Cake card on the front cover?

If that is it around the edges, then I think they also streaked ink across it as well. The lines look too straight to me. That's a cool card, though. I like the ribbon grass at the bottom.
I also really like the new Halloween set, Wicked Cool, and the samples made with it on pg.22.
i think your right about graveyard gala, that definatly looks like wonerfully worn. the others mentioned look like maybe they were speckled with either the "color spritzer tool" or maybe smooch spritz.

Well, I was wrong about Wonderfully Worn on the samples on page 97. It wasn't used on the cover or Graveyard Gala either. So, where is it used, I wonder?

Leisa I think that is because the picture in the mini is not that nice and does not do the folder justice. I didn't like it until I started seeing cards on here.

We were talking about the Square Lattice Textured Embossing Folder in the Summer Mini Catalog. The mini is good til Aug. 31, so you should be able to see it on the SU site.

Mine is on page 206, look in the lower left corner of the display box. See the flower stamp? They made that with the Alphabet Simple Numbers for the Big Shot. So cute!

I've looked through the entire catalog and I can't find this box either. However, I have a Sizzix Bigz XL die that makes a box similar to the one pictured. When assembled the box is a perfect cube and each face of the cube is 3-5/8" x 3-5/8". Stampin' Up doesn't sell it but you may be able to find another source that does. You can also buy it online directly from Sizzix.
Love this thread! It was fun going back to see all the "ahhh" moments from everyone. For right now, I am totally swoooooning over the 1/8" taffeta ribbon. I want them ALL!
Call me silly, but I simply can't get over the box on the cover- I am going to get the set with the clock, and I just love it love it love it. I keep mentioning it, and it seems no one is even noticing the cover (yet, perhaps). As you said, an aaaaaahhhh for me.
I don't think Wonderfully Worn is used in any samples (unfortunately). When you open the PDF file, you can use the search function to find specific things...like enter "two-step owl" (without the quotes) and you can find all the pages it's used on. Nothing came up for me with Wonderfully Worn. (The link to the PDF file has already been posted in #19.)

Beth, thanks so much for pointing out the Search function.
I missed that! (Feeling stupid...)

Glad to help! I love being able to search a file that I can read rather than going through all of the tiny print that used be at the back of the catalog. Enjoy!
My sweet demo came over at 8:30 last night and brought me my copy of the new catalogue. I've only 'read through it' (meaning:turned the pages and gawked!) once. I love the new colors, still am missing some of the old ones, and am amazed that so many of the stamps I own and love are STILL in the catalogue, despite the fact that so many retired! I think I'll be getting the new cardstock and some new ink....a couple of new punches, and reserve my judgement until my 3rd or 4th perusing...or more.
