The stamps are $16.95, because they are the size of background stamps. I sat down and wrote out a list of which letters I wanted and thought of as many words as possible that I could use them for. After doing that it made me realize they are SO worth the money.
I know a few people mentioned wanting to buy the entire alphabet, and I also heard of several people sharing an alphabet. There is a group of 5 girls and each one buys 5 letters...they were still trying to decide who was going to buy "X" and "&"
I can't wait to get mine!

Don't get me wrong, I understand the cost, but the total cost for the entire alphabet. Ooooh, how to justify that. I do think it's worth it, though. Good thing I have an allowance to spend on whatever I want because if any guy knew any woman was spending $450 on an alphabet.....I can't even think about it. LOL
Heidi, if you're just going to stamp them to cut them out, I say save the big bucks for something more important and just buy stencils. IMO, I don't think these are going to be a big seller, because there are so many other (cheaper) ways people can cut out large letters.
Personally, I am not too excited about the large monograms. I checked out the gallery and I like them on scrapbook pages, but I am not a scrapper unless it is requested at a workshop. So I couldn't justify $440 for an alphabet. I know you wouldn't have to get every letter, but still. I could see buying the first letter of kids' names or the family last name, but they just don't appeal to me. I am probably in the minority and I may like them more after I see more samples.
Don't flame me!
Keep in mind that when the letters come they will be pre-cut (like a punch out die cut). Keep BOTH images, the letter PLUS the stencil & you are doubling your alphabet - cool, huh? You can mount the letter to one side of the block & the stencil to the other.
I'm just getting initials, and I'm debating whether to get all of them or just first initials for the family. I'm sure I'll have other uses for them as time passes, and really hope they keep these in the main catalog for future use.
Just think of the gorgeous name frames you could make with those!
After getting the letters to spell all the people in my family's name, I only have B,F,G,P,Q,X, and Z left. Buying 7 extra letters won't hurt.
There- I just justified the whole alphabet!
(Of course, I probably won't get any... but OH I wish!)

No flaming here!! I totally agree! And nope, pretty sure I won't change my mind...I've seen samples and they look nice, but I can get the same thing by using stencils. ;-)

OK, how cool is that. I was trying to picture myself cutting out those huge letters. Ack!

What a fabulous idea!!!
I also think the popularity of the stamps will depend on what you do the most. If I was a person that only did cards...I don't think I would be all that crazy about them. Being that I am a scrapbooker...I can't wait get my hands on them!
I always share a sneak peek at my mini catalogs with friends, family and my scrapping club, and so far everyone that has seen them has plans to get a few. Just with my scrapping club between the 9 of us we will have 80% of the alphabet.

I am not a demo and have not intentions of purchasing these. I think they are nice but to get what I would want (probably all of them) is just too outrages. I think that I have lived without them this long I can do it for a while longer!
I needed large numbers for an address I did and I went into Word and printed out what I wanted...cut them out and used as a stencil....Other than that I think you could find stencils at Lowes or Home depot..for numbers but I have never looked for letters....

Write down the entire alphabet. Write as many words as you can think of that start with each letter of the alphabet. Pick the ones that have the most useful words and get those. Put a little star by initials of family members to see if these are more or less versitle(sp?). I am getting the entire alpha. Since I'm a demo, I can preorder in February. That gives me 4 months to spread it out... 7 letters a month... still under my stamp budget!
I do scrapbook and I LOVE the look of these letters. But even if I bought the letters for my families initials, I wonder just how many pages I'd do with the monogram. Would I get tired of seeing the large "B" on multiple pages of my DD? :???: If I had enough to use as the beginnings of words - say with Letterpress alpha filling in the rest - it might be interesting. But then how many letters would I have to buy??? And how many other stamps would I NOT get to buy because money doesn't grow on trees (at least not here in Chicagoland...)
I'm also interested in the idea of stencils. They'd be more of a pain to use, but likely much more cost efficient...
right now I am just going to get S for Stephanie, E for Emily and P for Pace....so excited I don't see me having to have everyone afterall they are really for Monogramming and you could not fit a bunch on one page even at 12x12 that would be just too much....I think they are fabulous darling and am soooo excited to play with them!

Luckily J and M cover my family...although I should get D for our last name....but that can wait....till next month. I am super excited about using these for shadow boxes/name frames, scrapbooking and stamping on walls...if I could I would get all 27 (since & is available).
