Default New demo and would like your opinion for my first order

Hi!! I have my first two workshops scheduled for the 27th and plan to turn them in together and add an order on them for myself so I can get my order for the 30% off. As a new demo, I of course have the starter kit, but love embellishments. I feel as though I need to make a wish list of sorts and narrow down for my first order, but want to take advantage of the additional savings!! What would you experienced SU demos recommend I purchase to add to my business? Please lmk what you wish you would have ordered if you could! Thanks so much and wish me luck at my first workshop!! The crafters tool kit is a great thing to have
And as my up line says if you use it They will buy it!
Also you will love having everything in one small kit rather than forgetting the eyelet setter etc.

I really wish I had gotten mine sooner.

Sounds great- 30% off and free shipping! Lucky!

I found that the back of the catalog is the best part- I love the clear envelopes, (and I sell to 2+ people at every workshop!) tags, embossing supplies and ribbons. The tag sheets are also very popular, I sell 1+ at every workshop I have! While you are getting such great savings, I would be tempted to get the heat tool and Crafter's Tool Kit if you don't have them. They are very cool, and everyone will want one! There are so many great things, I am sure you can make your list VERY quickly!

Good luck at your workshop Chrystal!

I would recommend the buttons and/or eyelets for whatever color family you got in your starter kit. I got the buttons in my first order after I signed up, and I just got the eyelets in my 2nd order.

Those are great to have and really dress up a card or other project.

You might also get metallic cord (for whatever goes best with the cardstock you have on hand) and/or linen thread and/or hemp twine.

I've found that these embellishments are really great -- fun to show and use.

Any embellishments are great of course. And I agree about the crafters tool kit. I've had two workshops since I got mine, and I sold one at each workshop. Also people love the dazzling diamonds. Any glitter really but dazzling diamonds cause you can use it with any color of ink!

Default Thanks to all who have responded!

I can't wait to place my first order!! I never thought about the FREE shipping for me too!! Keep the ideas rolling!! With free shipping for supply orders, I suppose I should wait until Dec1 to order additional paper products--catalogs, order forms, etc....
Anyone have any suggestions for me for my first stamp camp/open house? I would like to have in January to coincide with SAB, but am not sure how well it will go over just after the holidays. Any suggestions would be great!! You guys are great!! Love reading the posts! chrystal

Chrystal - Now that you're a demo have you signed up for the Demo Only portion of SCS? If not go to the left side of the home page and click on "Join User Group". Great resources/ ideas and business threads all the time over there. HTH.

Good luck on your upcoming workshops. Sounds like you're off to a great start!

I agree with the others. I ordered stamp sets that I wanted and I now wish I would have gotten more embelishments first. You can do so many things with the sets that you have in the kit. Get the embelishments.
Eyelet tool kit and heat tool are a must. Eyelets, ribbon, buttons and embossing powders in coordinating colors. Glitter. Don't forget to get glue to adhere your glitter.

I better stop before I start wanting to order some more stuff for myself.

I started similar to you. I had two workshops (which I hosted myself, with about 7 guests at each) the frist weekend in October. I went into it planning on reinvesting my 30%, plus I got all the hostess benifits. I took in nearly $1500CAD over the 2 days, so you can imagine I had quite the package of supplies for myself. I got lots of cardstock packs, ribbon, hemp, buttons, embossing powder, an extra stamp n scrub, stamp pads etc. I tried to get lots from the back of the catalogue. Now don't get me wrong I did get a bunch of stamps too.
Humm...sounds like you get another 10% to spend on "stuff"
Good luck on your workshops.

Yeah, I was bad and had to have all the inks too and at least one pack of the assorted cs so that I could have all 48 colors.

Looking back, I should not have ordered as many stamp sets.
I think it would be best to get inks, individual colors of card stock, tool kit and lots of embilishments. Wishing you lots of fun!

Vellum, Dazzling Diamonds glitter, 2 way glue pen (for glitter) and black detail embossing powder.

Vellum can add elegance to almost any card and give it the extra UMPH! it needs, Dazzling Diamonds glitter jazzes up simple cards and is subtle and I like the black detail embossing powder when I'm going to watercolor (certain images...maybe this doesn't need to be a purchase you need to make just yet).

Silver detail embossing powder is versitle and WOWs people.

I also always have ribbon on hand (especially the moss colored organdy...not sure what the color is called off hand).

Watercolor pencils are good to have on hand to...make sure to get blender pens or an aquapainter if you buy these.

Have fun and good luck on your workshops!

Oh just one more thing though, if youre doing two workshops, with two hostesses be careful about turning them in together because each hostess earns benefits like stamp sets, and if you turn them in together one of them may miss out.

Default Thanks again!

That's a very good point (not turning in together if Hostess will miss out on stamp set). I will have to be very cautious (sp?) with all the totals.....I'm so excited!!!!! I'll be certain to keep you posted with how it goes.....Can't wait to place on order in Dec. too for the new collage alphabet and Free shipping too!! Any more ideas?? Thanks so much!! I just got approved for the demo forum, so I'll see you over there
