Default Need Suggestions

I am doing a gift exchange & my partner likes to travel. She especially likes to visit National Parks. I want to make something for her in which she can keep track of her travels . . . like a map or journal or something. I am stuck . . . any ideas??

How about a covered notebook? You can see several samples in the gallery under the "Anything But A Card" section. Something like this may work.

I would do a pre-stamped journal - use some great tree and leaf prints, along with some journaling lines stamped in and room for photos- leave room for more stamping so when when she comes back, all she has to do is fill in the blanks and embellish!! I would also do a gift basket filled with Deep Woods Off, a bottle of sunscreen, a waterproof container with the good, hard, strike-anywhere matches, a tiny-folded pocket poncho, some glow sticks, a trail mix with granola, M&M's and nuts (whatever she prefers) a water bottle, compass, a loud old fashioned, policeman's type whistle (helps people find you if you get lost) and a "How to Survive Anything Anywhere" type of book - anything she might need on a hike. You could also throw in a Beenie Baby of a bear or a deer, some citronella candles, and line the whole basket with lambs wool. Tie some sticks with some really nice ribbons onto the handle. Ohhh - I think I just made baskets for my Bambi-hunting older brothers!!! Just some suggestions - let us know what you end up doing!! ~Pam

Does she have a national parks passport? Obviously, it's not something to make but it's a great way to keep track of the parks you've been to. If she does any drawing, you might want to get a book with blank pages. Someone posted a link to a website that has blank books with plain white covers so you could stamp right on the book. I can't seem to find the link but maybe someone else will remember it.

Thanks for the welcome, Pam! I am on the SUFriends group on Yahoo & have heard a lot of good things about splitcoaststampers, so I decided to check it out. I'm still not sure what I'm going to do yet. I am going to ask her whether she writes in journals or does any sort of drawing. Because then I could get a journal or sketchbook and decorate the cover. I was also thinking about printing out a map of the US that has all the National Parks on it so that she could somehow keep track of which ones she's been to. Thanks for the help!
