We have a kids show here in Australia called "Giggle & Hoot" on ABC22 - Jimmy Giggle being the young man hosting the show and Hoot (as you would expect) is a puppet owl who is the co-host. My 6 yo DD LOVES the show - it's her fav - and I would like to make a birthday card for her featuring a (or some) cute owls with a matching sentiment (such as 'hope your birthday is a hoot').
I know owl stamps have been around for a while but don't have any. Does anyone have any recommendations of what might be suitable - either single stamps or a set? Solid or outline stamps - doesn't matter which.
Jo ...check out the Hero Arts catalogue...it can be viewed online. They have some lovely cutie owls....You can source them here in Australia....if you have trouble getting them, email me as I retail them....but I am sure there would be someone closer around Melbourne who would carry them too.
You can make an owl without any stamps, just using some circle/square shapes and a little freehand cutting. Here's a link to one I made, it was pretty easy but came out great....
I have a stampin up owl set -- I love it. I don't remember the name off-hand, and I have a basement full of teen boys sleeping downstairs so I can't go check, but I'm sure you could look at stampin up's website.
here's the companies:
CC Designs, Hero Arts, Hampton Arts, The Angel Companies Pink Cat Studios, Whimsy Rubber Stamps, Stamping Bella, Prima Rubber Stamps, Stampavie,
Also--I have seen a Savvy Rubber Stamp of an Owl dressed in a bday hat and a bday owl from Inky Antics dressed in a bday hat. I haven't seen the exact saying. I think you could probably get a darling angel stamp and make a cute bday hat to put on there.

Oh my gosh, is this cute or what?!!! It's so clever - love the idea! Thanks Nancystamps
Thanks to everyone for all your helpful suggestions. I just bought Hero Arts Love Birds when I saw this card off the Hero Arts Blog 'cos I thought it would be great for my wedding anniversary, as well as another hero arts one here. I know I will get more owls - so much to choose from. The Jessica Lynn one's are fantastic - love the Pink Cat ones too.
Jo I was just about to suggest this little fellow...I just uploaded a card using this stamp....cased from the catalogue nearly...but way pretty.....the background stamps used in the card you like are very yummy!
Joanna Sheen in the UK has her own range of owl stamps. He is called "Hoot" and you can buy him in various guises such as "Bedtime Hoot" & "Birthday Hoot" to name just 2! He is supercute and great to colour. I also own a fab set from Woodware which has 3 different size owls (Daddy, Mummy & little one!) with loads of fab sentiments to match as well as branches to perch them on. Here is a card I made using the Woodware set. You're A Hoot! Woodware Owl card by leelulumpkin at Splitcoaststampers
