need help adding a link

to a blog on google. i want to add a link(also from a google blog) to a comment on another google blog.
i pate and copy, yet when i preview the link, it doesn't send me to the site.
also i want to make the link a word. HOW?
{sigh}
i am confused once i am off the SCS site, i understand here, just not in the "outside" world.
any help would be DEEPLY appreciated!
