Well any ideas what i should do? i am still not very good at stamping yet in my eyes and i want these to be perfect..I dont want to classy or to young looking any Set Ideas for this i would love lots of ideas. Yes i am starting to Plan this now...

Is the party off-site from your house? If so, where is it? Does she have a "theme" picked out? Think about her personality or hobbies or even her favorite color. Use those things as a starting point.

What about something using a snowflake set, like maybe the snowflake spot??? You could do the snowflakes in maybe Caribbean and a purple, make it a little funky...and of course, add a little sparkle with some glitter or some Iridecent Ice EP. maybe print the invite part on vellum, and layer it over the snowflakes (if you did this, I would maybe put an embossed II snowflake on the vellum layer, instead of with the other ones...soory I'm rambling, I find it hard to explain myself sometimes...I think this would be nice, not too hard, and not too classy (using the fun colors, and more upbeat snowflake set)
I'm scared for when my DD turns 16 (in 13 years) because who KNOWS what parties will be like then! I had a backyard BBQ with all of my friends, and we played volleyball all day, into the night... (BTW that was only 13 years ago, WOW ok, so it was a while, it didn't feel like that long ago, until I typed 13...ha ha ha) It's all MTV's fault and that stupid show, my super sweet 16...i *hate* that show...sorry, you turn 16, you didn't become the queen of a small obscure country ...sorry...back to the regularly scheduled thread...
I recently was commissioned to make cards for a Sweet 16. The teen wanted blues and snowflakes, her bday was in December. Anyway here is the card I did for them. I would certainly tailor whatever card you decide on to reflect who she is...
When our daughter had her sweet 16 last December she had chosen a Pirate theme because POTC2 came out on DVD the Tues before her party. I don't have a picture of her invite, but I a simple card with the information and it had pirate m&m's in a little zip bag showing through the cut out in the front. The kids thought the invites were cool.
Just make sure you have lots of food and a few things planned even if its as simple as an organized came of twister. (yes, they had a ball playing it.)

This is incredible...just gorgeous (not that I'm surprised!)
can you make something that is along the lines of a "back stage pass"...those things you wear around your neck...I am sure you could stamp and decorate the insert to go with your theme and the kids who "get in" would need their "back stage pass"...
wow such great ideas.. and I am not spending a lot on the party the hall that i got was 125.00 compaired to others that wanted 500.00 and not going to have food for all the kids just snacks and stuff like that i went to one in new jersey a few yrs ago for a family friend and omg they must have mortgaged there house she just wants a DJ and maybe 50 ppl including family and friends

good luck with your invites!!!
I can't believe the difference between the US and Canada.. up here we don't have "Sweet 16"... we turn 16, and that's it. I have known ONE person to have a sweet 16 party in my whole life... so my prediction for the future is, NO SWEET 16!! Spend the money on a wedding, or a car, etc...
not to hijack this thread, but what's the big deal anyway??

I gotta jump in and agree that this is a COOL idea!! You could use those luggage tag things that are all the rage now to put them in!!
i love the back stage pass idea i ran it by my DD and she likes it too..Right now she is in the dumps she fractured her foot in january and urgent care told her nothing wrong the orthopedic dr told her it was fractured last week she got a walking boot cast well to make a long story short she was walking on her crutches the other day and twisted her good foot and almost took the tendon off the bone so now she is in 2 casts and a wheel chair SO the moral of this other part of the story is she loves all the great ideas and so do i ..If i use any of your ideas i will make sure i give credit if i case and let you all see what i come up with..YOU all have been so helpful i really enjoy the input thanks again from me and my DD...

That's a good question. It'd be interesting to know how and why the tradition ever got started.
I am one of those crazies who loves to throw elaborate parties with themes and match everything from napkins to glassware to confetti. Everyone I know says I have OCD, but I love to see how creative I can get with a theme and I am just someone who pays close attention to small details. It's cool when people notice something small you've done and "get it". My son turned 16 last November and we had a Godfather movie inspired party (his choice). It was a blast. I would definitely be a party planner for a living if I could. But, you're talking to someone who threw a party for her dog's fist Gotcha Day (one year anniversary of the day we got Gordon - my avatar).
