So I was wondering late last night as I was stamping away at my little table what is my most favorite stampin up stamp and my most to die for stampin up tool. What could I just not live with out...
And I decided:
Stampin UP Stamp: Background Canvas stamp
Stampin Up Tool: Perfect Layering Tool
These two items really make my stampin collection complete. I use them just about every time I stamp!
So what are your most favorite Stampin Up Stamp Set & Stampin Up Tool?

Boy, you took the words right out of my mouth! I don't know how I ever scrapped without that perfect layers.
Sorry to interrupt, but I just cannot figure out the perfect layering tool. So do you not cut your layers with a paper cutter/trimmer? Do you use a craft knife instead? This is probably obvious to everyone but me, so if you want to pm me instead of posting to this thread, that's super fine.
Challenged!

Basically they include two ruler sized tools. Each side of each ruler has a different "lip" that you butt the paper up against for different sized borders.
The lip is set back from the edge of the ruler, so when the edge of the paper is against the lip, you cut the paper along the edge of the ruler... thus giving you a border. You need to also have a craft knife and a cutting mat which are sold separately.
You get your top layer all done and cut to size, then attach it to the bottom layer. Then you butt the edge of the top layer up against whichever lip corresponds to the size border you want. Then just run the craft knife along the edge of the ruler, just like you'd normally do it. Voila, you just cut a border.
It sounds way more complicated than it is! Play with some scrap paper till you get it all figured out. Once you get the hang of it it's really quick and easy, especially if you're doing lots of layers.
my MOST favorite stamp set is Crab & CO. it is the one that not only do I find myself reaching for the most....but it is the most requested by my kids!
Favorite stamp: Wonderful Words (maybe because I've made a ton of wedding/anniversary, shower type cards lately)
Favorite tool: perfect layers- only way for me to make mats for photos and not recut several times (or keep cutting until there is no mat left....)
Favorite stamp set: Fall Whimsey - I have lots of autumn birthdays/celebrations
Favorite background: Swirly Hearts ( a retired backaground with swirls and tiny hearts - not sure of the official name)
Favorite tool: Right now it's my scallop punch.
Favorite Stamp Set:Sassy Stems, I have to stop myself from using it so much
Favorite BG stamp: Sanded
Favorite tool: Blender pen!! Cant live or stamp without it
Thanks for starting this thread, it is interesting to see what others find the most needed!!
Favorite Stamp(s): "THANKS for making me smile" from Small Sayings and also the little five-petal flower from Looks Like Spring
Background Stamp: Print Pattern ( the vintage harlequin one)
Favorite Tool: Stamp-a-ma-Jig
