More Math SU - specific question re placing an order question
I hope I"m allowed to ask this type of question here. If not, I do apologize.
Here's my question:
How does the 30% off work, exactly, as a new demonstrator?
If my total is 400.00
and shipping is 40.00
and sales tax is 19.00...
When I keep clicking through to the very end, where payment is due, my final total is:
Total Due: *
$370.74
I took the 400.00 and took 20% off, then took 10% off of that, and then added s/h and the tax. I get $347.00. So where is the discrepancy? I asked my upline, but she thought maybe I didn't click through enough, but I got to the very end where the payment was to be submitted.
I'm not a demo, but I'm usually pretty good at figuring stuff like this. You figured your shipping and sales tax on the full $400, correct? So your local sales tax percent is 4.75%?
If so, the only place I can figure where you might have made an error is if you live in a state that charges tax on shipping/handling - and if so, that would only add $1.90 to your total, not the $23.74 difference you have. I'm interested in finding out the answer now!

Yep- call Demo Support and ask them why. I'm trying to remember how the 30% was figured on my first order. If I'm not mistaken- it was just a straight 30% deducted off my total (not 20% taken off then another 10 taken off). But even at that- your total doesn't seem like it should be $370.74. Does it actually say your shipping is $40? I'm only asking because there's an option when Demo's order to have it next day air, 2nd day air, 3 day air and normal. Perhaps the shipping method was changed somehow.
YOu pay s/h on the full retail value ($400). Therefore, 10% of $400 is $40.
Taxes depend where you live and the type of order. If this is a "demonstrator order" type, then you pay taxes on 70% of the retail value plus the s/h. (at least here in Alberta - your results may differ).
A regular customer order ... you pay taxes on the full retail value plus s/h.
Remember to join the Demo Forums here at SCS ... lots more demos there who can help you with your question.

I forgot to ask, though, what is included in the Hostess Bundle C that you get for 400 dollars in sales?
And, how do I get to the stampin up side of this board?
Thanks, again, so very much.
The hostess bundle for Sale-a-bration includes the Sycamore Street DSP, a Madison Ave. Stamp set and the Sycamore Street Ribbon and Button pack. You will get your choice of Clear mount or wood mount
