Default Mod Podge question

How do you get a smooth finish with this stuff? I always have brushstrokes. Can you sand it after applying several coats?

I think I read on the bottle I used that you can apply several layers and then sand. I have only used mine for one project and the brush strokes were actually nice but I can see how you might not want them on all projects.

I use a foam paint ROLLER not a brush. It gives a much smoother surface. Apply a thin, even coat to the item to be covered, place the paper/fabric/etc to be adhered on the surface, and apply a thin, even coat to the top of the paper/fabric/etc. Don't use too much. It's better to do several even, light coats than one thick coat that doesn't dry evenly.
