I have that same wall organizer. I wouldn't try to put punches on it because of the weight. I keep my ribbon on the dowels, but some SU ribbons don't fit which is a bummer, but overall I love my wall organizer and if my husband wouldn't divorce me, I'd get another (wall unit that is!).

I actually only use one dowel - I have two of the organizers and use the bottom two shelves for all my inks and another shelf minus the dowel for my acrylic blocks and glue dots. I don't think there is enough room to use the dowel for punches, not to mention they would be too heavy.

so, the IS an actual shelf beween the two dowels? did you leave the dowels in to help separate the ink pads or take them out to give more room?

thanks

I took out both dowels. I use the shelves for my sizzix dies and accessories. It sits on the back of the table where my BigShot 'lives.'

Definitely another shelf - when you get the unit in a box you have to insert the dowels yourself so I just never used them.
