Default Making Backgrounds, and images to color, do you....

Make a bunch while you're at it? Since I have my brayer out (for even coverage on my BG stamps), I usually make at least two BG's the same. Then, not wanting to waste ink, I make a background with whatever ink is leftover on the stamp, creating a different look. Then when I had my StazOn ink out to stamp images to color (like Christmas Cardinal), I stamped several images so I could experiment with coloring techniques and pick the best one rather than stamp one image, color it, be unhappy with the result, then haul out my StazOn again, and reink the stamp I'd just finished cleaning (don't want to leave that Black StazOn too long, y'know!).

You gals probably have thought about all this, but just thought I'd mention it. I keep a bunch of already-stamped backgrounds in a small SU stamp box and they fit perfectly, and don't get rumpled and bent. Then when I feel like challenging myself, I force myself to use one of those backgrounds to make a card.

If I'm stamping an image to color, I usually stamp several. If I feel ambitious, I'll stamp a sheet full of the image, spacing them so I'll have plenty of room to cut them into the size I'll need.

I've started doing two backgrounds even if I'm just planning to do one card. Then the other background is ready and I'm more likely to do another card and have it ready. Lately I've been sending out quite a few cards - some RAK's that have been posted on SCS and thank you's, thinking of you's, and sympathy cards for people I know. The more cards I have on hand or almost ready, the more likely I am to send them out.

Since I cut my cardstock in half to make a card and end up with 2, I usually make 2 cards with the background stamp. I don't tend to stamp more than however many images I need though, I don't color later, I color as I go.

When I first got Bubble Queen I did stamp a bunch, to try different color combos.
