hmm, i'm not sure if i'm brave enough to put the rubber in my brand new oval punch just yet, but maybe i can cut the rubber with the coluzzle? great idea and i love the look of grounding the images. Much better than having the little buggers hanging out in space!

I found some of my old rubber that I had saved pieces of..you know it's funny some of the rubber is thinner then other rubber. I found the thinner pieces, slid them into my punch, and carefully punched out my ovals. Worked awesome. I am happy with them!

I don't think the coluzzle knife will cut through rubber. I took one of my oval punched pieces of paper, laid it on my rubber and cut it out, but did not get a nice oval, so used my oval cutter to cut the ovals out instead. I figured i would save the one I cut out for funky shaped ground..LOL..

I just cut one out with my new punch and it worked just fine. My thinking is that it probably works better with a punch that is new and sharp. I just pulled the rubber off of the foam and punched just the rubber.

I have used the fun foam shapes for years for kids stamps. They come in so many precut shapes now. I do glue two identical shapes together for thickness (aleene's tacky glue) then mount to scraps of packaging (white stiff foam) foam. It cuts best with a serrated knife. The kids can come up with their own stamps and if one gets ruined it's very inexpencive. There are litereally 100's of pieces in those fun foam tubs. Also used the basic shapes to create you're own image using dots, triangles, ovals etc.
