Question Stamping on ribbon??

Hi Ladies. I have a cotton cardigan sweater that has ribbon on the inside of the placket, the same apple green color as the sweater. For the most part, it's hidden, but once in awhile it flashes and I thought it would be a cute addition if I stamped on that ribbon inside.

But how do I do that? The ribbon is grosgrain. Will it bleed? Do I have to use Staz On? Or can I just use regular ink? Any ideas on how to do this? Or what to stamp? I was thinking little daisies, but not sure if I have any that small. Or maybe just a small flower. I think it would really (subtly) dress it up - and now that I've been thinking about it, I'm on a mission!!

Any tips, ideas, or insights are most welcome! TIA!! - J.

Since I have a hard time finding polka dotted ribbon in the narrow size, I've taken to stamping solid grosgrain with the dotted itty bitty background stamp and using the white craft pad. It looks okay, not perfect, but it gives me the polka dotted look somewhat.

Thanks, Laura! That's a great idea! And the stamp is big enough to go all the way across for even coverage. I really like that as a subtle look. What kind of ink do you use? Have you noticed it bleeding at all? Thanks for your tips!

Oh, duh. Sorry, Laura; you did say you use the white craft pad. Thanks!

Has anyone else tried this??

On Fabric I would suggest using something made for fabric--either Fabrico or Palettes. If SU doesn't carry Fabrico, they're pretty readily available in lots of colors and Palettes come in 36 beauties! Just don't forget to heat set either one! :-)

HTH!

I've stamped on grosgrain with classic before and it DOES bleed a bit. Not every time, but I wouldn't take a chance on a nice sweater. The craft does not bleed but I don't know how it would wash... just something to think about.
