So last night I went to use my cutter to cut the paper for my first ever workshop. I've always measured and made little marks on my cardstock and then cut. I knew that my normal way was going to take forever. So I finally decided to swing the arm out and see how that all works. Well within a minute or so I was cutting like a madwoman.
Ack all this time of me stamping and I finally figure out how easy the swing out arm is to use. Gosh I feel so dumb. I guess the moral of the story is to learn how to use your tools correctly because it will make life so much simpler.
If anyone needs a better description on how to use that swing arm I'll try to assist because no one ever mentioned it to me and I've been doing it the hard way.
I'll join the "little marks" club. I cut cardstock like that forever until one day I got brave enough to post on here and these lovely ladies talked me right through it
Don't feel bad. I did the same thing for a year until someone asked me why I wasn't useing the ruler. I didn't know it was there. Boy did I feel dumb but now I use it all the time. It really makes life easier.
Hi...my name is Mommaj, and I too, am a member of the little marks club!! I think it is because most of the time, my desk is so crowded that it just seems easier to make the little marks rather than to clear the desk off to swing the arm out!!!
Even worse I use to fold my 8 1/2 x 11 CS in half and then hold a make and take up to it to make a line for where to cut. Duh I had no idea that all I had to do was cut the card stock in half and voila! It was such a revelation when I figured that out, I met the swing arm on my cutter at the same time.
Location: Stampin' with the new rubbah the posse sent me!!

ever notice the grid marks on our cutters? I just noticed those the other day! I'd been having to go back and check how big a standard size card was until I got it memorized. DUH it's marked right on the cutter! That's almost as bad as the first time I was handed an alpha number set and I told my upline half the numbers were missing... She calmly reached over and flipped the box upside down........ DOH!
