I have to agree with so many of the above posts....I do hoard for all different reasons. Seems I have lots of ideas when I'm in the stores, so I get everything of the latest thing to make, but when I get home I still haven't finished the last project and/or just don't have enough time in a day.

I've always struggled with the favorite things, that I feel I appreciate more than others might....but hanging onto to it forever just means someone else will get the pleasure instead of you!

One other thing that has helped me, is if it's something you just can't let go of then use it in something that you would keep...scrappbook, frame, etc. that way you've used it, but still have it

Hi. My name is Nancy and I am a hoarder...

I am working on it, though. I have actually embellished cards and (eek) given them away. I even refrained from asking those receiving them to give the embellies back when they're tired of the card.

I have started giving little thank you gifts to anyone that orders from me. I give a couple of pieces of hh, a foot of one or two ribbons, maybe throw in a couple of brads or eyelets--It has helped me in two ways--people use the items and I find that I am using more of the hh on my cards. I have tons of ribbon--I inherited some from my mom, I have bought a good bit and then when I started demo ing with SU I acquired most of their 1/4" grosgrain--I can't bring myself to buy any of the ribbon cards as I bought one several years ago and never used it. Not that I didn't try, I just had a hard time incorporating it into my cards. I still have twill tape from 2 years ago---again I have tried to use it but it just never comes together for me-even when I case other peoples cards. So, as I said I've started giving stuff to my customers. Everyone has been excited to recieve the thank you goody bag (I use a mini/lollipop bag) and put it inside the stamp set they order. I don't know if they use it or not---not on my radar anymore so I'm relieved of worrying about it. Now if I could just let go of some of my retired stamp sets. Oh, well as someone said earlier--baby steps.

I'm a hoarder, too. I buy all this stuff (esp. 3d embellishments) and I can't bear to part with them - I have a whole drawer full of stuff. When I make my cards (I'm a paper punch user - who's starting to like stamping), I just punch out 'embellishments' or make my own instead of using the ones I bought. Is that sick or what??? Maybe when I get more into stamping, I just might (just might) use some of my 'treasures'.

I think it's grand that there are more people like me (crazy) out there...

Oh Nancy, this made me laugh.

I bought some awesome dp (basic grey... my addiction) at Archiver's with a coupon. I was so excited to get it. Then I had to make my FIL a mini-album from my DD for his b-day. I thought--this Archaic line is perfect--not too frilly.... SO I WENT AND BOUGHT ANOTHER PAD AT FULL PRICE so I wouldn't use up the one I had in my stash! A true sign of the hoarding sickness.

I really needed to read this thread--so glad someone started it! I am going to try and change!
