that I have made any cards. I came here looking for cards that were easy to make. There is a term for them, clean cards or something like that.
Does anyone know what I am trying to say??? LOL!
Thanks
Paula

Just a word of caution - clean and simple does not necessarily equate to "easy to make"! I'd hate for you to get frustrated with yourself if things don't necessarily come easy when you try your hand at CAS.
One of the biggest issues is that there's nowhere to hide with a CAS card - an ink smudge will be extemely obvious and where you might embellish to disguise it on a "fussier" design it may not be an option when you go CAS, a misplaced sentiment will scream at you, the balance of image sizes needs to be spot on etc etc.
CAS cards are fun and when well executed they can be stunning. They have the advantage of not necessarily needing masses of specialist tools to achieve. The keyword CAS will get you lots of examples in the gallery and you might like to look at the CAS favorites thread that gets started every Sunday for the pick of that week's CAS uploads (chosen by people who love CAS). This week's is here

HTH!
I agree, absolutely. I admire the clean and simple style, but I have had no luck making these kinds of cards. I get pretty frustrated, and for some reason, they always look to me like they "need something."
So I stick to making my kind of cards, with layers and embellishments. It really is a matter of what we like and is pleasing for us to create.

I agree with all of the above. My personal style falls somewhere between CAS and fussy. I like to mat images and layers and add "a little something extra", but if I put more than a bit (a little ribbon, a button or two, etc.), it looks too overdone to me (when I make them - others do stunning work that I just observe and envy ).
I would suggest card sketches as a great starting-off point to get you back into the swing of things. That way you're not flying blind, but you can go as simple or fussy as you're comfortable with!
A great place to find CAS samples is Monday on SCS. There is a new challenge every Monday with lots of inspiration to get you going again. Have fun and welcome back.
I'm a bit late to the conversation but I think you might want to go to sketch challenges. The design is already created and many are easy to make. Whenever I am in a creative void, I find someone else's sketch to be very helpful.
Lots of cards listed as CAS have some layers, borders, etc. They are just not as fussy as many other cards. When I first joined SCS, I was overwhelmed by how many cards were posted each day, but narrowing it down to CAS was a big help. But as Joanne (angelnorth) said, some of the CAS cards are hard to make!
Sketch challenges work for some people. Personally, they are my least favourite of the challenges. I love theme challenges and ways to use it challenges. So Paula, you might want to search the gallery with a theme in mind, and also check Thursday's Ways to Use It challenge and Friday's Free for All challenge and those might give you some inspiration. You can make cards for those challenges that are either as simple or as complicated as you like.

I, too, ove the CAS cards everyone makes, but I have only very rarely achieved it. I love the elegant look, but mine always need something, in my opinion---even if I CASE it exactly in an effort to adopt the style.
I thought it was just me! lol! I have been trying to stregthen my CAS ability. I can say I have made some beautiful cards, but my finger ALWAYS adds a smudge or a blemish...THAT is so frustrating. Or in a last minute attempt to add something more....I mess up the entire card.
So don't feel bad if you find C and D frustrating....you are not alone! ;)

Somebody here on SCS pointed out that the quality of your cardstock really matters on a CAS card-no place to hide flimsy cardstock. I have been using cheap Georgia-Pacific for years, but I'm trying to be successful at CAS, and I'm thinking I might need to upgrade.
