I have noticed that when I use dye ink on my clear stamps it does not work as well as when I use pigment ink.
Is there anything else that I need to know of what I can and what I can't use with clear stamps????

Most of the time I use MOMENTO ink with my clear stamps or Adirondack dye ink.
I find momento works the best, you can use as well Versa Fine, that one works well too

I like the VersaFine, too. But I also use chalk inks. They do not bead up and are so soft looking. Very pretty!
You might try washing off your clear stamps when you first get them. I heard that they have a residue on them from the manufacturing process and that that is what causes the beading up of the ink. Just warm soapy water followed by a rinse in clear water and then patting them dry should do it. Please be careful not to loose any down the drain! They are "slippery little devils", especially when wet!:-D
Thank you so much for the washing tip . I have to do that and see if the ink works better after that.
I do have some Versa in pads but will get me a few more colors.

You can also use an eraser on them so they aren't so slick. I use mostly chalk inks but if there is a dye ink I really want to use, I ink the stamp, lightly mist, and then stamp. When I stamp, I leave it on the paper a few seconds longer and it fills in the gaps. There are some stamps that no matter what I do, chalk or versafine is the only ink that will work.
chiming in to say I love VersaFine on clear stamps, and the more use they get the better dye ink will work on them - also, maybe NOT cleaning them so well after use
and to second the motion that StazON is NOT good on the "nicer" clear stamps
In my experience, I've found that SU dye ink is the worst, followed closely by any other brand of dye ink. Pigments work best, but Palettes work OK too. One important thing to remember is that not all acrylic stamps are created equal. The better quality (read more expensive stamps work better than the Studio G-type cheaper stamps. I find that those are the worst, and I don't buy them anymore. I'm getting rid of the tiny alphabet and number sets, because they just fall right off my acrylic blocks no matter what I do.
