I'm surprised that the new catalog doesn't include the thin dies that other companies are selling gobs of. I absolutely love them because they are easy to store, make cards look super, and the price is right! Maybe it's better that there aren't any. My wish list is HUGE! Was there something you were hoping for that wasn't there?
I understand that Nestabilities are a patented open design, but Papertrey Ink and My Favorite Things have dies like that as well. They are closed, or solid dies, but they are so great to use! I have all three brands and love them all. There may be other companies that make them, but please don't tell me! Impend enough now as it is! I do have several dies from SU!, but don't buy many, especially the thicker ones.
I'm disappointed they didn't offer the Lovely As a Tree set in cling mount. I was hoping they'd expand some of their existing collection to this format. I can't see paying the full wood price for it knowing I might not mount it on wood or will eventually unmount it.

Oh my good Lord - I have never seen these! I am in big trouble now - I want them all. Now, have to figure out how to order, pay for, ship and hide all evidence from the hubby........

My thoughts were quite similar when I looked at those items!

Lordy, but you're a bad girl, Bugga! Now I have a cart started over at Ellen's. That Arboscella tree had me at hello. Then there are the Nestabilities on sale....
I agree with the other posters about the older sets not being offered in cling mounts. I would buy much more if they were offered. Those clunky BG stamps! They would (wood?) be so much more appealing and affordable if they were offered in the cling style. Plus, there is a clear acrylic block sized just right! What's the problem? Why would you not offer them both ways? Here I am kvetching (sp?)about them, but I have three of the BG on my (huge) wish list anyway. I guess because of the one catalog per year, the wheels of change grind s l o w l y.....
I think the reason that SU doesn't offer the wafer thin dies that other companies do is because they're in partnership with Sizzix and Sizzix, as far as I know, doesn't offer those types of dies.
Was there something you were hoping for that wasn't there?

Punny sentiments to go with Aviary or the Have a Seat set, I think that is what it is called. I'd like punny sentiments to go with the new button buddies set too. I just like punny sentiments. Ha ha.
I was all ready to order the punch cases to hold my flat punches and couldn't find it anywhere in the catty. It wasn't on the retired list either...
I think they had quality issues with it last year and you weren't able to order it. I guess they figured since it wasn't available they didn't need to list it on the retirement list.

This is why I won't buy any SU stamps that are only wood mount. I really don't like that te sing;e stamps are wood mount. There's a bunch of them I like, but won't buy because they don't come cling mount.
I saw in a convention report that the scoring board will have score lines every 1/8"-- cool. It looks big enough to handle a 12" sheet of cardstock. Wonder why SU didn't include it in the new catalog?

I wish they would offer ALL of their sets both ways!
I feel the same way about the wooden stamps I have a few that I was holding out for in hope they would do them clear... I heard that they manufacture there own stamps so why they didn't do it I don't understand!
I was disappointed with the lack of new Sizzix dies, they retired a load off and really didn't replace them with many.
I am also disappointed with the 12x12 papers... coudn't see one thatI lieke :(
I was surprised and disappointed that they didn't offer additional colors of the bakers twine, since that seems to be so popular now. Besides My Favorite Things, does anyone have a good source for it?
I'm also with everyone else about not buying the wood sets. There's a couple sets I'd still like to get, and a couple BG stamps, and I probably will still get them, but I'd sure rather get unmounted.
I didn't like any of the patterned paper at first either, but I've warmed up to a couple of them.

I was surprised that SU didn't offer a replacement for the star punch. A star seems like a pretty versatile image. There are butterflies, hearts, and flowers aplenty, but no star? Seems odd.
I'm also surprised that they didn't offer more sentiments for those stamp sets that have nothing to go with them.
I purchased a lot of baker's twine from Mark's Finest Papers...it comes in lots of colors, it's super cheap, and it comes with just the right amount rolled onto a clothespin. Adorable! I wanted a variety of colors, but I didn't need a lifetime's supply, and this seems just right.

Thank you! I knew there was another company that carried it that I wanted to place an order with someday.

SU has The Stars dies yet and I love it because you have your choice of the size of the stars!
I felt the same way when SU first offered the Big Shot......not going that route....but, I finally bit the bullet and ordered one, and, I'm so glad I did....once you make the initial investment....a lot of the dies are cost effective as compared to punches because you get more sizes in one die.....example the stars....there's 4 sizes for $16, versus one punch for same price....and, believe me, it opened up a whole new world to me...

I felt the same way for years Maryrose, and now I'm a Cuttlebug fanatic! It's the best $35 I ever spent. I bought one to help with making my daughter's wedding programs. Even with the cost of the bug and all materials factored in, I saved about $100 over the least expensive ones that I could have ordered from the wedding planner. I always thought that I didn't want a die cutting machine because I associated the dopey die cuts that I saw in some scrapbooking stores with the machines. When I realized what they could do for me, I was so hooked! Those thin flat dies are especially hard for me to resist. Can't believe that SU! didn't climb on that profitable bandwagon!
I hear you , Jutta........I hosted a wedding shower the year before I had the big shot....sat there for days, cutting out flowers etc.....and, everything looked good, but, I keep thinking what I "could have" done, if I had had that machine.....in a fraction of the time....
I love dies of all kinds and from all manufacturers, but the thick Sizzix dies are my favorites because they cut through so many things. I can also cut about 5 sheets of cardstock at a time, which is great for class treats & such.

Another item I'm kind of surprised that SU isn't carrying...heavy card base card stock. It seems to be so popular with other companies. Of course, lots of people would probably whine that they don't offer it in all colors, but I'd just love it in white, ivory, and kraft.
