I volunteer for an organization called Chemo Angels, where I am paired with a patient going through Chemotherapy. I send them at least one card each week to provide encouragement ... it's a great way to help someone else & use your stash.

I also donate sets of cards to non-profits and charity auctions.

Mine get blogged, pinned on my Pinterest boards, and also a copy of the photo on my PC. The reason? You can never have too many copies of anything in this tech age. The Cloud is a great idea, just remember that it went down a couple of weeks ago, and no-one could access anything, so never let it be your only copy. I'm not a fan of putting all my eggs in one basket, especially if its not MY basket! If you use Blogger, all your images are upped to Picasa, so you have a copy there too. I have a huge box of cards I've made, which get used over the year, generally, and I try to make most without a specific sentiment on, so I can either add one when I want to use it, or the message inside conveys the reason. I print out inserts with a verse and or the sentiment/greeting for all my cards.

I shred hefty amounts that are just plain ugly. Ive shipped a bunch to cards for causes and sold some at church.

I now have one client that request 100 or more cards a year, and one that will order thinking of you cards for shut-ins at her church. I have made over 300 cards for my own church, along with hundreds of treat boxes for Womens Fellowship luncheons and dinners.

Instead of a bottle of wine as a guest to someones home I will package a set of cards in a homemade card carrier. My neighbor will make us a meal just because she likes to, and Ill give her cards because I dont want to subject her to my cooking.

And then there are the ones that I keep because Ill never want to make again. Some are ugly and some are very unique and cannot be duplicated. I guess its like saving that useless and ugly keepsake you pick up at a flee market thinking someone else may want it some day.

When I think my cards are worthy I will try esty.

Thanks for this post Audrie! I like to vent.
Arizona Maine! I defy you to show me an ugly card you've made!!! I have followed you for a few years now and I am in awe of your talent. Etsy is waiting for you to take it by storm!!!
