Default I tried Oriental Trading Tape Runner

I've been debating trying the Tape Runner that oriental trading carries. Has anyone tried it alreay? What do you think?

Here's a link to the holder:

http://www.orientaltrading.com/otcwe...egoryId=375962

It comes with one holder filled and two refills (23 feet each) for $3.95 or $3.33 if you order 3 or more.

And here's a link to the refills:

http://www.orientaltrading.com/otcwe...egoryId=375962

2 refills for $2.95 or only $2.50 each if you order at least 3 sets.

Think maybe it's a generic Tombow? Maybe it will fit the Tombow holders? Anyone know

Ok, I went and ordered them. I figured if they were that bad I'd pass them along to the kids who would be more than glad to have them

First, they will NOT fit in the tombow holders.

They remind me of the old style tombow holders. Now, it's been a while since they changed the style so I don't really remember exactly what they were like but that's what they remind me of. The holder opens up and is hinged together and the refill goes inside the two pieces. The lid to cover up the tape comes completely off.

Now, how do they work? I've used them on some copy paper to see what I thought. I thought the oriental trading ones and the tombows were pretty much the same when it came to being sticky. I'm making something now with them using cardstock so I'll see how those do.

Also, you can get them in bigger lots than the above links:

Here's 6 filled dispensers for $9.95 or $7.95 if you order 3 or more:

http://www.orientaltrading.com/otcwe...rs&N=0&Ntk=all

And here's 6 refills for $7.95 or $5.95 if you order 3 or more:

I haven't done the math yet to see which is the cheapest way to get them.

They also carry the repositionable tape runners.

I've wondered about these, too. Are they photo safe? Thanks for being the guinea pig for us!

The product description says "acid free" but I'm not a scrapbooker so I don't know if that means the same as "photo safe".

They look like the ones that Wal~Mart sells, the Adhesive Tech brand.
I brought mine out to see, and it looks exactly the same. Maybe give those a try too, they work great for me.

Here's the project I used them on.

Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

I made them Sunday (3 days ago) and so far everything is still stuck where it should be! I won't be able to give any more updates on these though as they are going to the post office.
