Does anyone know the size of the smallest pocket die in Stampin Ups pocket thoughts dies? I need the size of the actual die cut piece. How tall from top to bottom and side to side. I always thought their samples were true to size unless they state otherwise but I'm pretty sure the samples in the catalog are not true to size.

The pocket, when folded, is approximately 1 and 7/16 inches across, and 2 inches tall. The tabs that are folded under to form the pocket are 1/4 inch wide.

I can't help you with the size of this die, but you just hit on one of my pet peeves about the new SU catalog. They are not printing the images the actual size so you can tell right off if it will fill your needs in that way. Some are not even shown complete except in nearly thumbnail size. It is the reason I stopped buying from CTMH years ago when they went to 50% of the actual size.

My pet peeve is they're not listing the colors on the gems and dsp in the catalog.

I hope people are letting SU know what annoys them. If enough people speak out, they may change things. I have noticed the catalogues getting thinner and thinner, but my biggest peeve is that they are trying to turn it into a fashion magazine, instead of a catalogue with a few crafty ideas.
My other thought, though, is - what company actually prints a catalogue these days? So, I suspect (worry) it won't be long before the only place to view SU products will be on-line.
Am I just being a pessimist???.

Many stamp and die companies have stopped sharing either straight-on or full-size images or both, or even giving the dimensions of all of their products, because some dishonest manufacturers copy and manufacture seriously inferior versions of them and sell them super-cheaply, thus cutting into the legitimate manufacturers' sales and profits. The dishonest companies make enough money for it to be worth their time and effort, and we honest folks suffer as a result.

Thanks for this explanation. That makes total sense, but it truly a sad thing. Many of my friends are buying these cheap knock offs, but it has always been my policy to buy American whenever possible. Hate to cheat my fellow Americans in this way.

SU continues to go down hill in my humble opinion. Every since their family tragedy, they have gotten less and less creative. The loss of their catalog is hugs and I just am giving up on them.

The products themselves are still a+ quality. It's just the shortcuts they are taking lately. It shouldn't be so hard to find what colors will match the gems

Erin, a Dirty Dozen girl and SU demonstrator, has a video I watched where she went through the catalog. She even made a PDF that could be purchased putting the information in the way of the older catalogs.
That might help with finding those items that used to be in the back of the catalog and are interspersed throughout.
I'm having trouble adding it from my phone; hopefully someone else will jump in and add it. If you've got a Demonstrator who you work with, she should also be able to provide it to you.

Is it on he demo site? My demo is going to look for it for me.

I had no idea about that family tragedy, and you sent me down a rabbit hole. Probably not the place for this discussion, but if people want to investigate, I suggest searching out all of the stories, including the ones about custody of children, to form their own conclusions. I love my SU demo, and want to continue to support her, but wow, am I seeing the company in an entirely new light!
