I'm so confused by all this secrecy and talk of "demo backlash" about the contents of a stamping catalogue that is already been sent to hundreds, if not thousands of persons, demos and non demos.
Well, Joan, the simple answer is this: a few months back, when the demos found out about the retiring and new pad colors from their Stampin' Success monthly magazine, someone posted about it in the forums. Whew!! What a stink! Many demos were upset because they wanted to be the ones to 'share' with their customers and they didn't get to because many of their customers hang out here and saw the 'spoiler'. Personally, I didn't care one way or the other. I am just hesitant at this point; I don't want to spoil something for another demo, getting the backlash if I post something, er, sacred.
However, seeing as how folks are asking for specifics, I'd be glad to post, either on the forum or by PM, if anyone asks for something specific.

I hope I don't offend, but I posted this question earlier and someone mentioned that saying what was in the catalogue a few days earlier would allow companies to steal SU ideas.
I'm guessing that the demos feel that they've paid a fee to become a demo and simply don't want to share info that they feel they've paid for. I wish someone would just admit it! That would be fine with me, but otherwise, I just don't get it!If I were a demo, I'd want to generate excitement among my customers, not resentment. Hope it is ok to say this!
Joan, I think it depends on the demo. I'm a demo and I say if you're excited about it then share it!! Sure I like to be the first one to tell my customers new things but if they hear it from another source it doesn't make the news any less sweet for them and they're still going to be excited about it. Plus, they all love it if they get info before I do -- they get to rub it in!!
Share, have fun, and enjoy the new catalog (oh, and mine didn't arrive yet -- my shipment is scheduled for tomorrow, Yipeee!!!
Heck, the mail came and NO catalog. You know you wait with such anticipation then all hope is gone for this day. Maybe tomorrow!!! I have an order due in today. Wouldn't it be nice if they included one in the order? I know I'm just fantasizing!!!!

I am a demo and personally, I would not mind if it posted here before I got my copy and to spread the news to my customers. Partly because it is exciting to see what is coming out and the earlier they find out before it acutally comes out gets them more excited about the catalog so when they do get theirs, the order is already large. It all works out and if your customers are loyal, they will order from you no matter where the excitement came from. You can hear all you want about something but to actually see it is not teh same, it is 100 % better.
Oh boy!!!! I'm in the Ann Arbor area and just sitting here at work hoping my catty is waiting in my mailbox for me. Thanks for the glimmer of hope!!!!!
I'm 2hrs north of you and I got mine today. Well hubby went to the post office (for a different reason) and asked if it was there! So I've had it all day... didn't have to wait for the mailman!! lol
You are soooo lucky! I am in St Joe and mine didn't arrive today. I was so hoping since I am home from work today. Oh, well...maybe tomorrow! Enjoy your catalog!!
The mailman was laughing so hard watching me jump up and down/clapping.....he said "Gee, what did I do, deliver the Publisher's Clearing House check for a Million dollars?"
I just received my catalog in Kingwood! I ran in the house, threw myself in the middle of the floor, plopped on my stomach, and opened the book. I was so excited I could barely breathe! Just then my four boys (4,5,8,11) decided that was the time to run in the living room and start wrestling and fighting. With all the screaming I couldn't concentrate so I yelled "You are ruining this for me!" and started crying. They just stood there looking at me like I was a dork! Gotta love PMS!
OK, I just have to say it...I love Holland, MI! I visited it once for a photography workshop series and ended up missing 2 of the classes because I got caught up in the downtown atmosphere. There was some sort of festival going on and it was great. Great town AND the catty... so not
fair! LOL
My catty arrived today in Eastpointe Michigan and they sent me 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Must be my lucky day! My upline in Warren, MI, however did not receive hers!

I live in Dearborn and I did not get mine. I practically jumped the mail lady when she came to my door. She thought I was just excited to get my ACO coupons.
I am sad...was really hoping my complimentary catty would come today because I am going to Cedar Point tomorrow at 6 a.m. Would have made good reading on the bus. I did check and the ones I ordered will be here on Wednesday. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!

life without chocolate or stamping is too terrible to contemplate...

Thanks for the explanation. This is wild. I was very glad to hear about the color changes on the board. My demo told me 3 weeks later!!! If I had wanted to place an order I would have called her as soon as I found out. I guess I can understand the competition among demos, and can respect that it is a business for them and I should settle down and quit yammering!!

OH MY!!! I hope I get mine today! I am usually a day or two behind... I live in the middle of nowhere! I can hardly wait.... I won't get home until 7.... and if it isn't there I have to wait until tomorrow night.... I just HATE having to wait!

I am so jealous!!!!! I moved from Virginia Beach to Hawaii last year! We always get everything late here. I probably won't see mine for another week!
