Default I cut up my printed papers & cardstock!

I am mostly a cardmaker and have been going thru all of my stuff, weeding out things I don't use anymore in an effort to use what I have, KWIM? Anyway, I have lots & lots of printed papers, stacks, sets of designer papers etc that I just never took the time to look thru when designing a card. So, I bought 2 of the 12 x 13 photo storage boxes from HL (9.99 each). Each box contains 12 half-boxes that can be removed for easy access. Then, I went thru nearly all of my papers & CUT UP the ones that I think I will use and am storing them in the photo boxes. I keep matching papers together in the little half-boxes. I also cut up a bunch of solid colored cardstock. I cut the solid cardstock to fit as card fronts, and the printed paper to fit just within the solid colored cs.

It is so easy just to pick a piece of printed paper and matching colored cardstock!!! I figure I may have some waste, but at least I am using what I have! And it all seems new to me. As you can tell, I am pretty tickled with this, lol! I obviously have no life!

Another thing I did after reading about it here, was to make up a swatch ring of my colored cs, which is mostly PT. Love this for matching up with printed papers, don't have to keep pulling out sheets of cs, so less wear & tear.

Okay, back to organizing.

This sounds like a great idea! I just may have to check out these boxes to help organize my DP that seems to get neglected. Have fun organizing.

That is a good idea for storing and USING scraps of DP or cutting up the ones that you want to use for cards. Thanks for sharing your idea!

I do this with my SU paper and love it. I have a creative memories photo box and sort my SU paper by color. I cut one sheet in half, score that one for a card base and cut the other piece for mats. I have recently been thinking about cutting my dsp and trying to find a way to sort it by colors just so that I don't have to hunt for a piece. You have inspired me to get to it. thanks,
Sandy
